Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thanks so much, CatMom, BWeaves, 86C and Shani! BWeaves, I’m glad I have that one;).

Shani, I had to find that necklace to see what I did because I tend to go back and forth with that style as to whether I use wire or thread. I was pretty sure I used wire, but I was surprised to find it was on thread. I ran the thread straight through and did not use additional knots between the larger beads. For all my projects with thread, I exclusively use Pattye’s Serafil.

A tin cup necklace I made with Akoya pearls from PacificPearls.US,, dangly keshi and tourmaline earrings from Kojima, and a strand of tiny FW pearls from a PP Live event. I put myself on the waitlist for these little pearls because I originally thought I would use them with my projects, but for now, I strung them up to wear. I might just leave them as a necklace.

Beautiful!

Welcome Shani!!! You need to check out Pattye's Etsy shop for thread, gimp (those metal spring ends) and tiny wire needles. I like Bella Findings for less expensive findings or close jump rings or Rhodium sliver... someone else will have to recommend the $$$ ones.

BWeaves....Stunning look I love it all!!! Thanks for the coin idea...I have a clasp that has that flower look & lovely coin pearls...both waiting to figure out what to do with them....your ideas is brilliant! I like the clasp to be semi-matched in size and it was on tiny pearls. (Taking a break from triple strands for the moment!)
I have already ordered some thread, it feels very nice to the touch and I used it to string my first ever project which I will share once I finally catch up on all of these posts! I think I am up to page 700 :)

Cold today. Cashmere and pearls. Black and white Tahitian studs from Kamoka. Natural white Hanadama rope from PP. Blue akoyas and teeny tiny keshi rope, and blue baroque akoya pendant from Takahashi and the PP Live events.

I'm glad you got the blue Akoya and keshi piece. It pairs well with so much of what you already have, and it looks like it's fun to wear.

I usually wear longer strands, especially during funnelneck season, to avoid feeling as if I'm being strangled. Yesterday I wore a crewneck and grabbed a fistful of short strands that haven't been worn much this winter. Zero thought process involved.
Rikitea Tahitians from PP ( thank you whoever gave them up after the Japan live), blue baroque Akoyas on navy knots from PP, silvery natural color freshwaters on storm gray knots from Kojima.

Thanks, SydK, CathyKeshi, Charlotta, and Lilpearl! Cathy, there’s actually a third furry critter. I think it’s supposed to be a chipmunk, maybe. I never outgrew my fondness for cute critters and tend to acquire buddies for bunny and the traveling pearl while on trips. These were from Okinawa. The salespeople were so nice. When they realized I was interested in the stuffies, they brought a whole bag out for me to choose from!

I think, (at least, I hope) I mentioned that CathyKeshi sent me a little treasure box of gems to play with. I’ve used some of them in the dangly earrings. I loved the cheery lemonade colors of the Songea sapphires in the stash. I mixed them with some baby “Edison” pearls to make this strand. Thank you, dear Cathy!!!:o

That whole set is a jaw dropping KNOCK OUT OF THE PARK!!

Thanks so much, Cathy! And bookmarked- I’ve had it on my packing list since it doesn’t wrinkle;)

Thank you, CatMom and Shani! Shani, I’ll have to go back and pull those pearls out to wear. They haven’t been out for a while.

Ooo, wonderful stack of pearls pearlgirl12! Love all your layers, too, BWeaves! I hope your dad notices how you dress up for your visits.

Some strands I knotted with loose pearls- Tiny T’s from Alex Collins and Fiji pearls from Cees. I wire wrapped the earrings with T’s and locally sourced jade slices.

OK from 1 - 754! I am slowly catching up! I don't want to post any new pics til I reach the end! So far loving all the pearls and am very inspired by the designs!

754?! Yay, you’re working your way to the light at the end of the tunnel! I actually should review some old posts myself. I’ve noticed there are pics on some of my old posts that I have no idea where they came from- random people I don’t know or pearls I don’t recognize. Yikes!

"Coral" earrings from Kojima. They're not coral, but the baroque pearls at the bottom remind me of coral shapes. These earrings look best without a necklace, and my handspun sweater is a bit too chunky for a pearl necklace.

Days 2 and 3, at the GJX in Tucson!

I have been privileged to be able to hang out with Sarah, Fuji and Lynne, in the Pacific Pearls/Kojima booth at the GJX. Everyone stops by, including this celebrity sighting;)
