Sunshine, sea, pearls...the best combination! Right now I am happy with the pearls only but the rest is on the horizon...yay!!!

Doesn't Simply Adorned aka Margaret make some lovely pieces? I just recently got a "pondslime" freshwater ripple necklace from her, it's very interesting and unique.

Love the pics of the pearl A-listers. I am reminded of how heartbroken Manuel was when he had to part with a few of his favorite pearls (his children) at PP's SOC live event 🥹

Days 2 and 3, at the GJX in Tucson!

I have been privileged to be able to hang out with Sarah, Fuji and Lynne, in the Pacific Pearls/Kojima booth at the GJX. Everyone stops by, including this celebrity sighting;)

Oh jeg, I have to admit I'm jealous. Sometimes I think it would be nice to get locked in a vault full of pearls overnight, but I also imagine it would be lonely without some pearl people to hang out with. This looks like way more fun!

Thanks Steve, BWeaves, pearlgirl12 and CathyKeshi! Steve, sadly I didn’t take enough pics to warrant a separate thread. Oh yes, pearlgirl12, you’d definitely want to make that adventure a pearly play date!

On Friday night, I attended a GIA event at the Alfie Norville Gem and Mineral Museum. I will create a separate thread with some pics in the “Pearl Industry News” thread. Not sure exactly where it fits because there weren’t a lot of pearls on display. Posting pics here with some of the museum pearls-

Great photos @jeg !
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, BWeaves, echo and Cathy! Cathy, sunshine and goldens have me feeling like summer. Well, at least almost spring.

I mentioned I had been following the Sex and the City reboot, and Carrie’s Akoya strand had me thinking I should have a simple, classic strand. Of course, I especially like it layered… I contacted Takahashi a while back about a strand, but at the time, did not have one available in the size, quality, I was looking for. I also asked about studs in maybe 9- 9.5mm. What a happy surprise when two beautiful choices came back in the rare 9.5- 10mm size! And just like that… I had an unexpected pair of Akoya studs!

I took snapshots in different lighting. There’s some distortion as they are round and beautifully matched. 9.5- 10mm pinked with a blue overtone pair of Akoya studs from Takahashi Pearl- arghhh, getting photo file error again. The resolution will be compromised because I need to make them smaller. View attachment 459913

I was curious as to how do you make orders from Takahashi? I have been to the website but find it confusing. Beautiful studs!

Shani, you can message them through their Instagram page. There are two: takahashi_pearl_official is the raw material page and Yy will respond to you, and takahashi_pearl_co.ltd has more finished products where Mr. Seki will respond. There is overlap and great communication between the sites, and a quick response time keeping in mind the time/day difference in Japan.

Thanks Douglas and CatMom! And you’re welcome, Shani. Show and tell if you find something!

Happy Valentine’s Day! A Kasumi pendant from Kojima with FW earrings I made. I wrapped the station chain with teeny Akoya keshi from Takahashi.

They make a sweet set, BWeaves! I had my little h out, too…

Little h seed pearl earrings worn with one of my new treasures from Tucson. I am enamored with the soft colors of vintage Akoya, and Fuji selected this strand for me from his collection. I made the station chain with random loose vintage Akoya that are from last year’s show, also from PacificPearls.US. I selected more loose Akoya this year and will hopefully be able to get a couple different lengths using them.

Thank you, SteveM- they are fun, easy to wear earrings!

Subtle ombre Tahitian/keshi rope from Kojima with Tahitian/keshi earrings I made. I remade the necklace. I bought it in Hawaii with the large Tahitian off centered. It was too heavy to stay put so I remade it adding more Tahitians and centering the large one.
