Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

I was busy stringing pearls today! Both are new 'old' strands. The yellow akoyas are from Pacific Pearls and their discovered stash from Hong Kong. Yes, the pearls are gorgeous, but I love the story behind them, too. Just think, they've been waiting for someone to give them a home for 60 years. I am delighted they are here with me!!

The second strand is a recent purchase of pre-loved pearls. I've posted them in the 'Identify my Pearls' forum. I think they're blue baroque akoya but regardless, I like them.

I probably wouldn't normally wear them together but hey, they are both getting some well-deserved love today.

Thanks so much, Tiger! I haven’t used that idea in a long time. Oh, I’ve been eying those vintage Akoya. I really love the soft colors of vintage Akoya. I would wear those two strands together anytime!

Little h Tahitian and ruby earrings, with two Tahitian necklaces I put together.

Visiting Dad today. Natural white Hanadama rope from PP. New blue akoya and white teeny tiny keshi rope from PP. Spring Rain ombre' blue pendant from Kojima with a white gold Viking knit choker. Dyed drops with white topaz silver hoops from Kojima. The white topaz sparkle like little diamonds.

I thought about making some "replica" earrings with the intense blue akoyas and diamond earring findings from a previous PP Live event, but they just got too expensive, and I kept looking at these inexpensive Kojima earrings and thinking, "But these look so good."

BWeaves- love your new blue akoya and keshi rope. And looks so pretty layered on that blue top.

Missed a few days because I was at my niece's wedding. Since I was using my Mom's vintage Chanel handbag, I decided to do old school Chanel and wear a little black dress and layer on the white pearls.

Mom's SS earrings. Mom's mabe' pendant on Aunt Love's Blue Lagoon 18" strand. My 1982 akoya rope. My natural white Hanadama rope from PP. Long SS & freshie tin-cup from Kojima. Large coin pearl ring from Kojima. My own handspun, hand-woven shawl embroidered with freshwater pearls as stars. It's supposed to look like trees silhouetted against a night time sky. My dress is sleeveless, so the black on my arms is also part of the shawl.

You look lovely!!

Happy New Year 2025! I'm still feeling in the mood for white pearls. Mikimoto huggies. Betty Davis' Teeth freshwater keshi from Kojima. Coin pearls from Karen Brown Jewelry. I "stole" the clasp from another strand of my mother's pearls. The clasp just seemed perfect with the coin pearls.

It's funny how I go through phases of just wanting to wear colored pearls, and then just wanting to wear white pearls.

(PHEW! Somebody bought the second chance pearls I was lusting after. Thank you for saving me from myself.)

Oh, I should add my pearly nails that I had done for the wedding Chanel pearl look.
