Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thanks so much, BWeaves!

A Tahitian rope from an Intergem Show, a bracelet I put together with collected Rikitea pearls from Druzy, and earrings I made with Tahitian/keshi.

I haven't worn these in a while. Pastel Tahitians from PP bought at my last RUCKUS. There were a whole bunch of baroque Tahitian necklaces on the table, but this was the only strand that was near round and pastel and very blue green. I've never seen another strand like it. The colors just don't look Tahitian, but I love blues and greens. Worn with my white gold Mikimoto huggies. These are my travel pearls, because they're comfortable and secure if I happen to doze off (says the person who lost one of the yellow gold huggies while putting on a backpack and had to have Mikimoto replace it. P.S. I've sworn off backpacks.)

I decided to let that neon green Fiji pearl from the last PP Live go to the waitlist person. But I'm taking a look at the bracelet that had Jeremy's favorite pearl in it. I'm toying with the idea of doing something like THIS with it to make it into a necklace. Half strung like a regular necklace and half funky chain without the extra pearls in the chain part. What do you think?

Thank you, CatMom!:giggle:

I remember that table of Tahitians well, BWeaves! Your necklace idea sounds like a fun one. It would be something different- more modern and a little edgy. Can’t wait to see the results if you go forward with the project. I tuned in for the Live event, but wow, the pearls flew out of there before I could even blink.

I’m wearing my vintage Akoya strand from PacificPearls.US, with my necklace of golden Akoya from Takahashi. They are a great match together. If I remember correctly, Fuji matched and assembled these strands at some point. He is a detail person. I wanted to share the temporary string because it has details on both sides. I did end up removing some pearls, but mostly because I decided on a little shorter strand. It was just a happy coincidence that it nestles and plays so nicely with the Takahashi pearls. Worn with earrings I made of vintage Biwa, golden SS keshi, and Tahitians.

Definitely go for it! I have a chunky silver bracelet that I bought especially to wear as the “other half” of a pearl necklace - the best thing is that it works with all my pearl bracelets (I have three - ombré Tahitian, bubble Tahitian and blue baroque akoya), but my favourite is the ombré soufflé Tahitian x silver chain. I don’t have photos of the other two combinations as I only ever reach for this combo!

The best thing is, I can wear it with the white pearls or the black pearls facing the front. Lots of fun!

Note that you’d need the clasp / fastenings to work with the chain, if you decide to go with a pearl bracelet + metal bracelet combination.

What does the bracelet with Jeremy’s favourite pearl look like?

Yeah!!!!! That's the idea! I love your version. Very versatile.

I was thinking of using a small orbit clasp on each end so it looked like a link, and I could hang a pendant off it, too. The pearls are a graduated bracelet length strand of white Fiji pearls. The center pearl is Jeremy's favorite. It's a multicolor pearl. It looks white with some stained glass light falling across it, I think. I don't think the pearls are very big, so the chain part will need to be daintier, but I'm thinking definite links, not thin chain.

I may change my mind when I see the pearls in person before I make a decision. My pearl budget is really maxed out right now.

Yeah, I ended up with the neon green pearl and the bracelet because nobody pounced on them. I can't pounce that fast. I was really surprised nobody went for these two, because they were GORGEOUS. I did remember someone later waitlisted themselves for the neon green pearl, so I didn't feel guilty letting that one go. I think nobody went for the bracelet because it was mostly white. It didn't have those warm brown colors that scream Fiji pearls. But I was really drawn to Jeremy's favorite pearl. I totally get why it was his favorite.

It's cold today. OK, it's 58F, which is cold for Florida. I'm wearing winter pearls. There's something about these colors that just screams winter to me.My Edisons from the PP Live Event. These look like metal balls to me. Even I have a hard time believing these are natural colored pearls, and I know they are. PP strung on them on purple Serafil thread from Pattye. Kamoka Bali earrings in 22K gold. The earrings don't match the necklace, but I like how they look together.

I'm feeling fancy today. I'm not going anywhere, but I will look at myself in the mirror a lot today.

My best strand of pearls. Rope of natural white 8mm Hanadama pearls from PP.
Blue akoya and teeny tiny keshi rope, and Blue baroque akoya pendant from Takahashi and PP Live events.
Dyed drops with silver and topaz hoops from Kojima.

I can't capture the colors the way they look to my eye. The blues and whites just glow and have beautiful pink and green overtones.

Ugh, the camera is making the blues look grey. They are incredibly BLUE in real life. And the pearls in the pendant are insane.

I like how you’re using your bracelets, Pomelo!

Great combinations, BWeaves! You’re not just feeling fancy, you are fancy!

BWeaves; LOVE Mom's Ruby Earrings, they look lovely with the little H pendant. That Blue/White combination is so very pretty and elegant!

JEG, where to start? The Tucson Gem Museum photos ... so fabulous, and so so so kind of you to "take us along"; THANK YOU! The new to you vintage akoyas, WOW those are beautiful, and how wonderful to mix them with our favorite little H seed pearl earrings. The Kojima Tahitian subtle ombre rope ... mmmm ... and can we talk about that adorable sweater? Home runs, all!

BWeaves, I thought Jeremy's favorite Fiji bracelet was lovely! Have fun figuring out your bracelet/necklace/chain plan; it sounds great.

Hi Sea Glass! Sea Glass is one of my favorites too; it was in and out of my shopping cart about 10 times ... I'm glad it lives where I get to see it once in a while :)

Jeremy's favorite Fiji bracelet pearls just arrived. They are LOVELY. But I've decided not to keep them. I can really see them with a chain to make a necklace, too. But my pearl budget is less than zero right now. I'm glad I got to see them in person, though. They really are gorgeous! They just GLOW. And the color on Jeremy's pearl is amazing.

Sigh. Another time.

Today I'm fully Kamoka chested. 18K gold Bali earrings with 10mm round peacock Tahitians. Coral Atoll necklace. According to Celeste, these pearls are from Kamoka's "sister" farm that tends to create more circled pearls. I never thought I'd like a necklace with just a hook clasp, but this is my favorite "throw it on with jeans and a sweatshirt pearls."

This Sea Glass strand is exquisite! Out of interest, why is it called Sea Glass?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such soap bubble-y Tahitians before! To have so many different pastel overtones (pink, green, blue, champagne) in a strand is amazing! I’ve seen soap bubble-y akoya but not T’s, and the mix of different sized pearls is so fun and unique. Out of interest, what’s the size range of the pearls?

Really beautiful @jeg !

Sarah at Kojima made it and the pearls looked like sea glass, so she called it the Sea Glass necklace. And we all drooled over it, and JEG got it!

Thanks so much, BWeaves! I’m sad the Fiji keshi didn’t work out for you. They were very pretty!

Awww, Cathy, you are so sweet! Thank you so much for the kind compliments.:giggle:

Thank you, Pomelo! The Kojima pieces come with names and this necklace was called the Sea Glass Tahitian. I tend to not remember or use the names, but for some reason, this one stuck. The size range of the pearls is 8.3- 13.5.
