Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Welcome Shani!!! You need to check out Pattye's Etsy shop for thread, gimp (those metal spring ends) and tiny wire needles. I like Bella Findings for less expensive findings or close jump rings or Rhodium sliver... someone else will have to recommend the $$$ ones.

BWeaves....Stunning look I love it all!!! Thanks for the coin idea...I have a clasp that has that flower look & lovely coin pearls...both waiting to figure out what to do with them....your ideas is brilliant! I like the clasp to be semi-matched in size and it was on tiny pearls. (Taking a break from triple strands for the moment!)

Been a while since I've been on due to long family illness. So hello to my Pearlie friends & welcome to New members!
Thought I would drop a couple of pics of a couple of new additions.... White & Golden SS pearls & diamond ring set in 18k gold (Christmas present from Hubby) & Tahitian & diamond bracelet set in 18k white gold (anniversary/birthday present from Hubby in June).

Purchased from the live event for my 19 year old --she says it's so cute but doesn't think she will wear it. So I get to enjoy! The quality is outstanding, with the tiny akoyas being especially luminous.

I'll begin with this: These are not my pearls☺️I was catching up with some NYT articles I missed around the holidays, and I came upon The Mysterious Donor Who Fled Communism and Left Millions to the Art World. The painting is titled Portrait of a Young Woman, or as I call it, Show Us Your Pearls, ca.1575. It is by Giovanni Battista Moroni, and was bequeathed to the Frick Collection.
Look at the pearls in her hair, her ears, and zoom into that necklace- the luster! Sadly, it is a half portrait, so no, Pearlistas, we will never see the drop on the necklace.

(NYT digital version 12/24.2024; print version 1/6/2025. The link is behind a pay wall at https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/24/...auction-art-clark.html?searchResultPosition=1)

A Happy & Healthy New Year to All.
I will see some of you on Ban Island.

The little bird is so cute. They went to fast for me to snag one.

Yesterday I wore my multicolored Edison necklace from PP with dyed "coffee bean shaped" drops from Kojima on my own diamond hoops.

Enjoying the island sunshine- I have so much to catch up on. I only brought the Traveling Pearl and Bunny, plus a few studs with me this time.

Love everyone’s pearls! So good to see you 86C. I hope your family is ok. Marlakins, those little birdies are so adorable! And beautiful pearls BWeaves!

Welcome Shani! So glad you found this forum to add to your pearl adventures. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I empathize with what you are going through. Na Hoku is a reputable jewelry store. There are several on the islands, and a few other locations. I have purchases from them as well. Good luck making it through the rest of the thread and again, welcome to the forum!

Ok, Ladies....He's here!!! Sheri & I have been collaborating on this project since last year. It's been a long wait but well worth it! Took my breath away when I opened the package. I cannot sing Sheri's praises enough!! This is an amazing statement piece & could not have come to fruition without her talent & amazing gift of design. Thank you, Sheri! You have outdone yourself with this one!!!

I've taken a couple of pics indoors & outside in shaded light. I will be taking more pics later.
Introducing Kanaloa...Ancient Hawaiian God of the Sea...
Holy hell is that ever WILD! Wow!

My special request from Takahashi Pearl just arrived. I wear mostly studs when I travel because they are easy to pack and easy to wear in any weather. I asked Mr. Seki if he could find some blue baroque Akoya for me. I chose two pairs for studs, and two pairs as loose pearls to use in dangly projects. I took some pics of my package because there is a ‘Certificate of Guarantee’ that is included and new since my last purchase.

And also a pearl outfit-
A round golden SS necklace from Kojima, a high luster golden SS mix from a PP Ruckus, and earrings I made with Myanmar golden SS from Druzy.

How beautiful! Love Takahashi pearls. Your Goldens are so stunning.

Thanks so much, pearlgirl12 and 86C! I haven’t decided what I’ll do with the loose pearls yet, but one pair will probably be added to a simple chain to use for jackets.

One of the new blue baroque Akoya studs from Takahashi, with a SOC keshi necklace from Kojima, and a tin cup bracelet I put together with loose pearls from Takahashi.

Love the colors, especially the bracelet! ❤️

Thank you, multichrome! What a nice compliment.:o

When I purchased a strand of freshwater pearls a while back from Kojima, I asked Sarah if she had any extra pearls that would work to make an extender for the strand. She sent such gorgeous, lustrous, rainbow pearls, I just couldn’t see hiding them in the back as an extender. I finally got around to making something else with them, with some extra pearls in my supplies. I used some keshi and the tiny brownish pearls are wild, naturally formed Sea of Cortez pearls I got from Carolyn Ehret. It gives the necklace an overall coppery, greenish, pink color. Worn here with a strand I made of freshwater pearls from Hong Kong. This is what I’m wearing to vacuum today! I tried to get my Adidas in the pic, but the angle wasn’t right. ;)
Here are the pearls she sent-

Hi Jeg, gorgeous pearls! When you created the FWP strand did you tie off any of the larger pearls or just string it? What did you use to string it? Thank you!
