Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thanks so much, Douglas and 2thdktr!!

All things I put together- a strand I knotted with a mix of Fiji pearls from Cees, random Tahitians on a chain with one Fiji pearl, and earring dangles with tiny T’s from Alex Colllins. I found the little diamond studs when I was rummaging through my mom’s jewelry last week. I remember the Christmas years ago when she received these from my aunt and uncle.

I haven't been on for awhile as I am traveling but love the men in pearls posts. I ran into this young lad from Dublin who was actually my waiter in Paris and consented to a photo and was interested in Pearl Guide once I talked to him. Hope to see him on here.

I always find it interesting to see the choice of pearls made by men. For those I have personally seen outside of the pearl world, I have mostly seen strands of white pearls on the younger set. Fun to catch glimpses of pearls in the wild these days…

A Rikitea strand from Cees, a Kojima Tahitian pendant, a keshi chain and earrings I put together. The metal discs are from a San Francisco artist.

Where does the time go ?? BWeaves, thank goodness you survived that terrible storm with no damage ! My Brother and sister in law had just moved to SC around Greenville and I was worried but no damage..just power lost for awhile. But poor Ashville ...I've been there many times and could not believe the devastation. But on a fun note... love all those new things !!

jet - always so many beautiful and fun pieces !!

Lary007, your costume is fantastic and the pearls fit for a queen!

Love the Chihuly glass ceiling @jeg and your bunny fits right in!

A little fun weekend project posting here! Back at the 2018 PP Ruckus, Hisano was gracious enough to let us dig through her little h soufflé stash. I got the 2 circled soufflé and Lema got the other one. Seeing our 3 soufflés colors matched well together, she graciously gifted me her pearl so I can make a suite. Hisano noted that Lema’s pearl plus one of mine fit together like a jigsaw puzzle! Voila, introducing the Jigsaw Hugging Siblings Soufflé Earrings!!! Lol, yes, a mouthful. But I love it! I am in the process of finding out if I can have a ring made with the same findings/design.

I have a few other soufflé earrings, and since I liked the flower findings so much, I converted the pair on the right to go with the gold version of the flowers. Super happy with how they turned out!

Part 2 of my soufflé project is finally done! I have a trio of the lighter colored soufflés and I was waiting for some parts to set the 3rd one into a ring. And VOILA!!! I could not be happier with how it turned out, and look at the reflection of me on the soufflé!!!

A little behind the scene actions - rings are hard for me since I don't metalsmith, so I literally duct tape and bubble gum stuff together and it was a multi-step process.

Hisano had drilled a hole for me at the back of the soufflé. I used the same flower finding I used for the earrings, used superglue to hold the pearl, flower, and ring blanks together (it was not fun, I would not recommend it lol), and then resin everything together after the superglue has set.

At first I kept the earring post on to help wedge the items together and put the first layer of resin on. And then I chopped the post off and did another layer of resin over it to secure and smooth everything out.

And the reason I used 2 ring blanks is because the thin gold band has a little peg on it which is secured into the soufflé. But the steel ring blank is just a plan round one. So I used both for better security and stability. Weeee!!! Very happy how they all turned out. A few more photos of the items:

Haha in this picture, you can see I haven't chopped off the connector loop yet.

Here is the final complete piece.
