Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

The short tin cup is made with tiny T’s from Alex Collins. The necklace and earrings were put together with random T’s and Tahitian keshi.

Just GORGEOUS!
Beautiful way to start a new week and month!

I haven't gotten my Hong Kong Live necklace yet, so I absolutely was not going to buy anything else during the last PP Live event. But NOBODY bought the BF14 B: 10-11 mm Natural Color Blue Akoya Pearl Pairs, the drop shaped pearls. I remember someone "Mined" them right away but changed their mind, and I've been checking them out on the PP website every day since then. They were still there again today, so I thought, "Why not?" They'd match my Takahasi pendant and my new Hong Kong live necklace (I think), and probably match my Vietnamese BBA's from PP. My HK Live necklace was the rope of large blues mixed with multi strands of teeny tiny white keshi.

Can't wait to see them! Yes, BF20 & BF21 are still haunting me...I waffled too long on them. :)

On the other hand, I did buy one of those Rikitea strands that haven't shown up yet. LOL....

Skills? Let me tell you, I can barely tie shoelaces (I am not kidding...mid-50's and I still use bunny ears). I just followed the WONDERFUL tutorial on this site.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH BUNNY EARS...... I use them too..... :)

And for something else completely different.

I'm a hand spinner and hand weaver. This is my interpretation of Eowyn's Starry Mantle from The Lord of the Rings.

It is handspun silk and wool, hand woven and embroidered with crystals and freshwater pearls for the stars. In motion, the stars sparkle. The center with the red glow has been interpreted by different people as either a sunset, or mist or fog rising, or a distant mountain still lit by the rays of the setting sun. The pearls were either stars, or distant lights from houses on the mountain.

I didn't photograph the ends of the shawl, but it has long fringe covered in crystals and pearls.
Holy hell is that amazing!!!!!!!!!

Most companies have casual Friday. My company is so casual that we decided to have "Wear a Suit Friday" just so we could dress up for a change. (I think this is to be followed with Pajama Tuesday, but I haven't checked my e-mail.)

So I wore my only suit and my Grandmother's necklace (actually PP Freshadamas and Nana's pearl clasp) and my Kojima teardrops worn as an earring jacket with diamond pave studs.

Man, I need to work on my makeup skills. I thought I had my jawline filled in properly this morning, but it looks like I missed whole quadrants of my face.

I'm tempted to add a third strand to that necklace. The clasp can handle 3 strands. Right now, the middle loops are empty. If I did add another strand, I think I would move the shorter strand to the middle and add an even shorter strand. Should I leave well enough alone? Or is more, more? Currently, the strands are 18" and 19". Nah, I should leave it alone. It's pretty heavy, even though the pearls are only 8 mm.
FWIW, I think that if you added another strand unless it was a very tiny one in the middle, you would lose the pendant effect altogether. There is a nice symphony between the strands and the pendant.
