365 Days of Pearls

The teals, pinks, peaches and greens in your GSS pearls are mesmerizing. Extraordinary.

Jewel tones really seem to set off GSS pearls. Baby nurse, your hair has grown a lot in 364+ days.

Yes, jewel tones do seem to complement them!

I usually get it cut every couple of months when I get it colored. I left it long last time so I’d be able to pull it back in a ponytail when I went to Hong Kong. I knew there’d be no hope of styling it with the humidity so chose the path of least resistance ; )

You may have mentioned this before but I wondered if you had a parrot?

Day 360:

I’m cheating a bit with this post as this was something I wore during the summer. Our short sleeve days are over for the year :(

Pistachio akoya rope from little h, graduated metallic lavender freshwater necklace from Pearl Paradise. The clasps for both pieces are compatible so I occasionally wear them as one long rope. Colors work well together because the lavender necklace has a strong green overtone.

I love that lavender strand with the pistachio rope. I never would have thought to put those two colors together, or a combine a graduated necklace with a rope. I love the ombre' wave look it gives.

I love your new wave necklace, and it layers so nicely with the waterfalls! You are making me really want some coral beads! They look so great with GSS pearls.

baby nurse, Yes, I have 3 parrots. Had five, but lost one to old age and one to cancer. I used to also be the finch lady when I raised finches. I'm envious of your chickens, but my condo association has a strict no poultry policy.

Baby nurse your pearls are so beautiful, love the GSS and the lavender. You have such amazing pearls.

Fascinating, Parrot Lady. Where do they live? I’m sorry about the loss of the two who passed.

My older son would love to have a parrot but I’ve explained the type of commitment you have to make to them. I’ve heard that parrots are like toddlers in that they need a lot of attention and someone who can be their “mate” and be home most of the time. Is that true? Since you have three, do they see each other as their mates or are they attached to you mainly?

Thank you, Kay. I think coral would look lovely on you and we already know you could model goldens!

Thank you, BWeaves, Corvettegirl, and Cathy! It was Purranha who first suggested connecting strands together. I’m not sure it would have ever dawned on me!

Day 359:

Black and white necklace (Tahitian and wss) bought preloved from Pkinnew, who purchased it from Pearl Paradise. Tahitian dangles also from Pearl Paradise.

Baby nurse, they live in separate large cages in my living room. They're only in their cages to sleep and when I'm either upstairs doing non-parrot things or am away from home. They are each bonded to me, but don't like each other. To me, they are magical beings, but require a huge lifetime commitment. They're adaptive, and actually did better when I was at work all day. Now that I'm retired, they demand, loudly, every second of my attention, and to make this pearl-related, I can't wear pearls anywhere close to them.

BN, what a gorgeous black & white strand!! That's a color combination that's always in style!! It's a stunning necklace!!
