I'll always remember the year our spring chicks grew into a couple of very large white birds. One day they disappeared. That weekend's fried chicken dinner was… very quiet.

Pattye, GemGeek, and Marianne— I’m glad prospects have somewhat improved for chickens! My parents have similar stories.

Chicken used to be my favorite meat. Tandoori chicken, buffalo wings, chicken fajitas... ugh, the list goes on. But I can’t eat it anymore! And I’ve tried lol. I can’t get past thoughts of “were you one of the ones who like to cuddle, or the kind that happily follows you around but doesn’t want to be touched...? But i’ll eat the eggs!

I’d do it in a heartbeat, Purranha! Think I might hit a speed bump at airport security. What do you think—maybe I could call them my comfort chicks?!!

White baroque akoya necklace and metallic freshwater studs from Pearl Paradise.

Pearl Dreams was wearing her gorgeous akoya the other day and it reminded me that I hadn’t worn these in a while!
