I swear I reknot everything at least 3 times. Sometimes more. Yesterday I reknotted my first akoya pearls, yet again. A rope. It's been too kinky because I knotted way too tightly and it never loosened up, even swinging it around and trying to manually stretch it. Beader's Secret doesn't need to be knotted as tightly as silk, because it doesn't stretch out like silk does. I think I got it right this time.

Thank you, Purranha! I’ve run out of clasps lol, so I have to stop the stringing for now. A good thing I guess because my fingers were so sore!!

How long does it take you to knot a rope? It took me hours to do one on the weekend. I don’t think I could have strung it a second time! It is irksome though when they don’t drape nicely.

Day 327:

39” rope of 6.5-7mm multicolor metallic freshwater pearls from Pearl Paradise and lavender dangles from Kojima Pearl.

I began collecting pearls in the summer of 2012. Six months earlier, Pearl Paradise had had this special on exotic metallic freshwater pearls. They were looong gone by the time I looked into them and I wanted them SO badly! Fast forward two years, I discovered a rope of these babies for sale in the preloved section on PS. I couldn’t buy them fast enough! I wore them a handful of times and then the thread near the clasp tore; they’ve languished in my Jewelry box ever since. I finally restrung them and here they are!

BN once again I say you have one of the finest collections of pearls I have ever seen. The Andy Muller rope is just TDF. Can't believe you have waited years to have it strung and to wear it. What self control you have Me I would have used a safety pin to tie the two ends together and march around happy as a clam. Congratulations on your exquisite stand.

I had one and did just that lol I used a pearl shortener and clipped them together !

BN - Thats a lovely strand of AM pearls! And the freshwater rope is beautiful. I've got a couple of the original graduated strands of the metallic freshwaters and I know just how pretty they are in real life.

Newberry! I tied it with string and wore it around the house lol!! But yeah, all that time without it being truly wearable was crazy. I kept telling myself “I’ll string it next week”.
