My Pearls 2.0

I have been playing some with my pearls trying to make a lighter Delight strand, but by not using "normal tahitians as greens and blues, akoyas instead and well smaller half the strand is off sizewise. I do mix sizes, but there has to be a balance of sort. Back to the beading board. I have also been busy crocheting an amigurumi baby dragon since I will be a grandmother in a late summer. Yay. Not-husband has a granddaughter that I dearly love. Her grandmother (the former wife of Not-husband), being insecure and sometimes jelous and not a bit artistic, would be hurt if I made something for her granddaughter. So I stepped back a bit. I am however a favorite of that girl. Hopefully some day I can make something for her instead of buying things. But now I can make whatever I want. Almost finished dragon, wings left, on a pearl hoard, should be gold but the kitchen is lackning gold piles...

Congratulations, Charlotta! How adorable the baby dragon awaiting the new arrival. Fortunately it is a ways off and will have wings by then. Golden wings will be awesome!

Oh Charlotta your grandchildren are so lucky to have such a creative grandmother as you!!!! Your dragon is the cutest toy ever!!!! Absolutely adorable!!!

And well, the Color Delight is AMAZING!!!! I definitely need a wire wrapped piece like this...I decided :) my stash is so so low but I have already selected first three pearls for it :) The dangers of Pearl Guide forum....

Thank you jeg eolian pearls and @SurfnSci.
I did crochet the parts for the wings yesterday evening so I just have to sew them together and and into the dragon. It was so much fun making it. I have lots of yarn left, since I bought every shade...so I will make more amigurumi. Maybe an elefant with a pyjamas next.
Color Delight was so fun to make. Can't wait to se your version eolian pearls. Yesterday I remade my unbalanced Soft Delight strand, that I told you about yesterday I think. I removed the akoyas and tahitians. It's an ombre from purple edisons through golden south sea finishing with pale green and blue south sea pearls. I think that I like this version. It's like half a Delight strand, so I call it Warm Delight, since it's mostly warm colors in it. Hopefully I can show it soon.

Lovely Dragon Charlotta2.0 I like it very much!
And "Color Delight" is indeed colorful and delightful :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Thank you CortezPearls, that dragon is really cute. I didn't make up the design myself, I found it in a book. Then I bought some more books. I do have a library to fill, since Not-husband built a library with a secret door behind a shelf. I insisted. Not that we use it much, the secret room that is. Color Delight is such a fun piece, it has some of my favorite pearls in it that I have had for years, mostly the ones that didn't end up in Hearts Delight. For example a little drop silver tahitian with a pretty green overtone from the strand I bought from Cees and a green freshwater ripple pearl from a strand from Kongspearl that I didn't like as a strand on it's own. I have used up most of the pearls though.i also have a pretty two colored golden and white south sea pearl from Pearlescence. The edisons are mostly from Druzydesign, as are many of the smaller south sea pearls and quite many of the tahitians are from cmw pearls.

Some more photos of my Color Delight strand. I find it fascination and find new pearls to look a at all the time, even though I have had several of them for years. Somehow when there is a bit space between the pearls they can shine on their own. As per usual I did add a chain between the wirewrapped pearls. The first time I wirewrapped a strand I didn't and it tangled something fierce. Very annoying, but no worries, it was a practice strand with the worst of my leftover pearls. Most have gone to the pearly heaven since then since I decided that dull, heavily blemished pearls with almost no luster and white spots on the south sea pearls didn't make me or anyone else happy so off they went. I still have a bunch of boring tahitians, south seas and freshwater pearls that are not sorted in my boxes for color. If the childen ever wants to learn how to knot or wirewrap they can practice on them. They aren't all bad, just boring. Anyway Color Delight...

That big copper edison totally fascinates me at the moment

Some more photos of my Green Fairy (that wants your soul) shorter wirewrapped strand that I made because I loved how Color Delight turned out and sometimes a shorter strand is more practical (and vice versa). I centered the strand with an awsome bullet shaped edison with the prettiest green metallic color. The Green Fairy name is from that Dracula movie with Winona Ryder, you know the Green Fairy that lives in absinth and wants your soul. Well since they banned wormwood from absinth I figured the Green Fairy moved on and settled into that pearl instead, taking the soul of anyone who claims that necklace without being gifted it. I am working on a scary story for the childen. I do accually have wormwood in my garden. It's traditionally used as flavour in some scandinavian type vodka. I have it for it's pretty silvery leaves, I don't drink anything alcoholic. I do however wonder if wormwood added to that scandinavian vodka is equally bad as absinth was... Here I am rambeling along. Green Fairy

I do have three bullet shaped edisons that I got in ministrands from Druzydesign, not at the same time. They all have pretty amazing colors.

The green one is now in Green Fairy, the coppery purple on is in Sunrise and Sunset with a green flash bracelet and the purple and blue green one is in Sunset. Such special pearls. I accually mostly like baroque pearls better than round ones, with exception of course for some awsome round pearls that I have. The rainbow strand from Pearlescence and my ombre tahitian rope from Cees are two I can think of at the top of my head.
Since we cannot go to the summercabin due to storm and snow I have a whole unplanned weekend to finish the wings of the dragon (something wrong with the pattern, luckily I think that I can fix that what with being taught to crochet, knit and embroider as a small child by my grandmothers, I insisted), making a strand, rope or whatever with the garnets I finally recieved, maybe wirewrap a labradorite and making a tree of life pendant. But first espresso and playing with my leftover pile of rather pretty pearls. Since I made a Warm Delight strand that other day maybe a Cool Delight bracelet, or should it be a Dark Delight one. Well see. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Oh wow! What a Delight it is to see the 3 creations next to each other!
I love Color's Delight but your Green Fairy caught my eye as well! That colorful, erotochromatic bullet shaped pearl just communicated with me and asked for my love and attention!
And using the tin-cup method does allow each pearl to shine on its own...:35:
A lovely weekend to ALL!

Thank you CortezPearls. I was just going to make one bracelet today but I ended up playing with my pearls for hours and have several new ones. I even knotted the white edisons with some big peacock green tahitians, I call it Mint Chocolate since the edisons do have a bit of green in them. I have to wear it some to see if I like it.

Sooo beautiful and such amazing colors!!! And I agree, that bell/bullet-shaped pearl is spectacular! I've never seen a rainbow quite like that all in one pearl :wow:

Thank you SurfnSci. I agree, the wierdest shapes has the best colors. I have two bottle shaped tahitians that have the prettiest colors. One is a vivid spring green and the other has the prettiest metallic aqua color. I wonder if there ever are round pearls with those kind of colors or if the pearl farm just keeps them for themselves. I would...

Wow Charlotta you have been on a wire-wrapping marathon :)

Your creations are absolutely AMAZING I love love LOVE all the colors and totally agree that the pearls have their spotlight to shine on if there is a bit of space between them. This is such a perfect design for baroque pieces too! I do have a few that just look off ( or are actually drilled off-center, I hate when that happens with the pearls I really like) when next to other pearls and I am getting all these into the “next project” pile inspired by you. Looking forward to seeing more from you as always ;-)

Thank you eolian pearls. Have a few of those pearls that are drilled off center as well. I always wonder why, were they in a hurry? Or tired. Mostly noone can tell when those pearls are wirewrapped or in a mixed size strand or bracelet.

I have mostly been doing bracelets the past weeks, I do have a layout with white south sea pearls, rather big, and some, also rather big, green and peacock tahitians. But I haven't knotted then yet, because I don't know if I would use them. I do have some new bracelets I like. First Dark Delight, with only tahitians in it. It's sort of an ombre placement.

With a knotted garnet bracelet I made
_20220226_193446.jpg
I did accually make a necklace with garnets as well, it's the pearl necklaces that I haven't made any new of. It has a swivel dog clip where I can add charms, here I added a cute green smallish bottle shaped tahitian, a Thomas Sabo alligator charm and a good luck charm with my name in that I got when I was a baby.
_20220226_193259.jpg
Really pretty these garnets, and large enough drillholes for knotting. I like that theyvare so smooth and clear, not like the bumpy tourmalines I once bought that were really dark and muddy. I used Serafil in Plum on the garnets and Mint on Dark Delight.

I really like your Dark Delight...there are these two pearls that just draw my attention to i: the large, gorgeous teardrop and the "Maraca" style teardrop, these are where my eyes go to with a lot of interest!
The garnest are very pretty! Makes me think of pomegranates.
Very nice work Charlotta! :You_Rock_Emoticon:

Oh wow, I really like the Dark Delight, too! Very subtle ombre, and very, very pretty!!!

Thank you CortezPearls and SurfnSci. I really like those funny shapes as well. I removed two pearls from Fairys Treasure bracelet as well, it was too long and added another keshi. Now it's perfect

I did make an all edison bracelet. I was going to call that one Warm Delight, but changed my mind. It does have the colors of Sorbet icecream, so Sorbet it is. I might have to change place of two pearls, the overtones are tricky, in some lights the pearls looks rightly placed and here they don't.
