This is my first visit to Hong Kong so besides buying every available pearl I want to do all the touristy things too!

I'm leaving about the same time as you. 01:40 arriving 07:15. I must have a really fast plane. Guess we can catch up Sunday night before we fly.

You will miss the first day of the show ... The most important day!

The dealers will usually rush in to pink through available lots and buy by selection. By the second or third day what is available in the higher quality goods (at least from the larger suppliers) is what has been rejected by all the other buyers.

The best time to go is 3-4 days before the show with appointments made before they move all the product to the the airport for the show. This is usually when the auctions happen too. That's why I usually leave the day of the show or the day after. Made the decision too late this time...

Next time, take me along. I don't eat much (unless it happens to be raw oysters or raw fish or caviar...or almond croissants...). I'll carry your bags at the show. Who knows, they might even get lighter after I carry them around for a while...
