When to knot and when not to knot

Here is another project on the drawing board. What really jump started me on all of this was my growing collection of little sapphire briolettes. As I started to look around for a possible design, I encountered the golden lombok pearls--love at first sight--I fell so hard!!

I recently attended a design class. Before going I "rough strung" one of the 5 golden pearls that I have from Care with some briolettes from my stash (see pic below for my 4 inch "trial" section). I think that I have enough to make a "choker" length necklace (15-16 inches_ with the five pearls and with the sapphires. I have some high k gold beads, head pins, etc. that I am saving too for this necklace as well as some little canary diamond briolettes that I could include.

I have some slightly larger untreated sapphires in this color range to use for the central part of the necklace, and am trying to design the central part--one of the five pearls is a larger baroque with beautiful luster--it is ringed but in a very attractive manner with virtually no flaws (I will snap it later too). I want to drop this central pearl on the headpin possibly with the little diamonds and a few of the best sapphires and use the other four round pearls as on the trial section below. I am not quite certain where I am going with this design, and could at this point consider other options (translation: an excuse to collect more golden Indo .pearls!!) I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks again, Beth
