Another purchase from Pacific Pearls.

Because of the hole in the middle, I think I can incorporate it into a weaving or a Kumihimo braid.

However, I'd love to hear your ideas. You were all so helpful with the Swan.

Thanks!

UPDATE: Which is the right side? Where is the top? Just your gut feeling.

Nice pearl! I see a horse head... I like the idea of incorporating it into a weaving! Or you could make a pin with it? Do you wear pins?

That's hilarious! It does look like hamantaschen! I'm having an excellent coffee, and now I am craving one... I especially like the side in your first posted picture.

Great, now I'm seeing all sorts of animal heads, hehehe.

I have brooches, but I go through phases of not wearing them. I'm more likely to wear this as a pendant, or on a scarf or shawl, or maybe as part of a bracelet.

The Swan pearl itself wasn't that expensive, but the setting was, even using my own diamonds. So, I thought I'd go cheaper with this one and do a fiber related setting. That would leave the pearl open to a metal setting later if I got tired of the fiber thang. I'm really thinking of some sort of Kumihimo braid used as a necklace with this incorporated as part of the pendant. I need to go through my Kumihimo fiber stash and see what colors of silk and biron (artificial Kumihimo silk) I have. Or leather would be interesting, but a bit boring from a weaving perspective.

But you all swayed me in a slightly different direction last time, and I was glad of it, so throw any and all ideas at me, please.

Yes, I too thought of the pastry. I say go with that theme, put something that sparkles in the center so that it looks filled and wear it as a pendant or pin. I would cluster small stones in the center. It is a very cool pearl...and it's making me hungry!

Maybe you can loop a simple thin leather necklace cord on it to wear while you figure out what to do with it and which side you prefer?

I like the idea of threading a leather cord into the center and wearing it as a necklace or bracelet, sort of a more casual look. Then again, filling the inside with pretties would make it have an upscale, delicious look too!

Maybe I'll run it by my jeweler after the Holidays and see what ideas she has for the "Filling." I like that idea, and she has beautiful stones.

But I think I may wear it on a cord of some sort until then. I like that idea, too.

Okay, so ... you need an interchangeable hamantashcen : Soft, high quality kangaroo or stingray leather from the clasp to one end of the pearl, repeated on the other side. In the center of the pearl, fine gold wire you can open and close from the back, so you can slide on different "flavors" of gemstones :)

The Hamentaschen is out of the oven. Here's the glamour shot.

I haven't seen it in person yet. It has a 7 point diamond set in palladium in the center of the hole, with the rest of the setting on the back of the pearl. So the pearl looks like it is invisibly floating on the white gold cable.

When we filled the hole completely with a colored stone, it was too much. Part of the charm of the pearl was the hole in the middle, so we just added a little sparkle to the center.
