And one more of the very first one - the luster is the deepest on this one:

I keep mixing up the two pink strands. Can't be bothered figuring out which is which. I know it when I wear it. So I'll just lump the pics together. I'm dead sure this is 224 and the one below is 238.

I bought a nice pink strand that is almost cotton candy pink from Pearl Paradise. This is not a great photo but I think it sghows the pink body color nicely. It has all sorts of pretty overtones to it that you cannot see in this photo.

Awesome, Raison and Casey!

Just love the beautiful colors on the pinks/peach/lavs, I remember the first time I held a strand and saw all the beautiful little colors over the body color, it was total magic then and it is still a wonder to me that it happens! Thanks again for all the photos!

Nice pics! Love the pink.

Well, I was bored today so I took some neck shots. Apparently multiple strands don't actually overwhelm me like I previously thought.

Raison,

Those are glorious on you!

I agree with Pattye - those look heavenly and they don't overwhelm you. You're giving us all ideas...;)

Feeling generous today. You can see a bit more of my top today. ;) Old pearls, but there are always new tops and different configurations. Sorry about the hair. By the time I uploaded it the hassle was too big to retake them.

Merry Christmas!

That last shot is so lovely. They look great against the color of your skin. Thanks for all the wonderful photos! ;)

I don't understand why most people are obsessed with completely round pearls. I mean, the baroques are unique, the luster is outstanding and have you ever seen such translucence? They feel so organic and warm against the skin. My bestie seems to think baroques are unattractive. But I have so much fun wearing them. I do love my freshadamas, and plan to get more next year, but there is definitely a place for baroques. The most interesting WSS strand I ever saw was a baroque that was so random/abstract you couldn't really tell it was bead-nuked apart from the size. I don't quite like the fireball/tail look so far because the bead looks so stiff. But yeah, baroques all the way!

That's it, they really look translucent. And the subtle color variation on the surface is infinitely interesting.

Thank goodness that all pearls aren't perfectly round. Imagine if all the clouds in the sky were round. We wouldn't be able to see images when we lay on our backs in the summer sun. ;)

You know, I should really start coiling them up on a smooth light colored surface and take some more pics. The pearls you got from pearllunar look fantastic. I can't believe you've got special lights!

I do have a professional light setup for jewelry photography, but I haven't used it for the photos I post here unless they came off my website. It takes several minutes to set it up and take it down, so I'm too lazy to use it unless I'm batching stuff. Besides, there's nothing like diffused morning light for pearls.;)

No, the recent eBay purchase of a dual fiber-optic lighting system was for gem identification purposes. I can see from the pearl photos, however, that it has a lot of potential for adding spot lighting to the photo setup or just to make interesting shadows from side-lighting.

That faboo monster keshi bracelet must have had a palm frond shadow cast across the pearls. It's evocative of the tropics without any type on the page. It's genius on the part of the photographer and/or photo stylist.
