Ok, i'm also having problems with the 'reply with quote' option and see a 'never ending wheel'. So that's 3 of us; i'm assuming our computer's aren't responsible... Anyone has a clue?
Ah, flowers! Another nature's beauty. Yes, spring madness is getting to me too, as I become flower obsessive... in addition to all my other obsessions... I'm eagerly waiting for my new peonies to flower this year.
Started knotting while watching March Madness hoops today. Didn't make it to 100" but this one is 71". Mixed freshwaters (all natural colors) and some Tahitians, as well as some random gemstone beads. Finished it with a basket clasp so you can clasp it around any pearl that will fit. Not knotted between every pearl, but fairly randomly 1, 2, of 3.
Also put this together with the last of my Sea of Cortez pearls. I was also making a pair of keishi studs with the last two SC, and accidently drilled all the way through one. Sob, sob. Anyone have any interest in a singleton? Guys? Girls?
Sheryl!
Thanks for the postings! Wonderful designs, beautiful pearls. I love potpourri designs and those Cortez pearls are imminently wearable. Good work!
Sheryl, love that rope! I also knotted a rope while watching television recently. Not nearly as long as yours (just 36") but it was knotted while watching Downton Abbey and inspired by the long ropes that Lady Mary wore
Sheryl, Beautiful rope.. I love the dangle in front.. You're so chic.. and with the islands always on your shoulder! Beautiful mix of textures! Looking forward to seeing you in Santa Monica.. mmoowwaahh, Sarah
I really like your rope. It seems quite "multipurpose". Inspiring... I'm thinking it would be an interesting starting project for me. I could definitaly practice the knotting! Did you gradually collect the pearls you used? The clasp is beautifull! May I ask where it comes from? Thanks for sharing!
Gradually would be an understatement!!! I've been buying and selling pearls for about, well for how ever long I've been on PG. Before that it was all stones. I used leftovers, spares, drilled some Tahitians, and just knotted until I ran out of silk. (for now). The clasp is probably from Bella's, but I think Rio Grande has them too and Otto Frei. We had a 100" challenge a few years back, and here are pics from that rope. Didn't get any South Sea pearls onto this one. Used the same kind of clasp for the first one.
It's fun, unless you break the thread part way through! tee hee - wait, that happened to me!
