Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Beautiful strand, Pearl Dreams!! Stunning colors, and so happy it's a unisex strand... please post pictures of him wearing it!!

Today I shortened the multicolor round strand I bought during the 2015 PP Tahitians sale.
This was intended for my daughter's 21st birthday (upcoming this December) but I've been letting her wear it now and then to keep up her interest, as she is not a pearl lover by nature.

When she told me recently that she doesn't want the strand after all (I know, I know ) my husband piped up that he wants to be able to wear it occasionally! :D He and I will be sharing it, to get maximum use out of it.

It didn't look good on him at 18" long, and besides, the strand is smallish (8.0-9.7mm) and just looks better shorter. I removed 5 pearls and swapped out the white gold ball clasp for a small orbit clasp, which he will find easier to manipulate.

So here it is at its new length! I'm sure he will want to try it on when he gets home from work, and I bet he wears it to the East Coast Gem, Mineral and Fossil this weekend.

First...that's fantastic that your DH will wear the strand! I am very impressed...and it is a gorgeous strand!
Second...WHAT??? There is an East Coast Gem, Mineral and Fossil show this weekend?? Where?

Battah, love your ropes and their versatility. We can never have too many ropes!

BW, I can never get enough of your little h pendant, and of course the swan!

Thanks ladies! Hubby said he is definitely wearing it to the gem show on Friday-- and yes, I'll be sure to post a photo of it on him.

BWeaves, I think these pearls have such amazing colors because they are smallish-- the oysters were young.

JerseyPearl, the show takes place during the second weekend in August every year at the "Big E" fairgrounds, West Springfield. We go every year. There's always an eye-popping mineral specimens exhibit near the entrance, too.

Battah - the ropes are wonderful !! Hard to go wrong with ropes and ropes of white pearls ... or any pearls for that matter lol

BW - always wonderful to see those pendants !!

PD - those are gorgeous Tahitians ! I'm sure your daughter will come around in time ... not many girls that age appreciate pearls it seems. None of my friends daughters are interested ..other than a little pearl pendant which works well layered with other fine chains .. that seems to be 'acceptable' lol

She'll be inheriting them all, Katbran! Hopefully she will like them by then.

She is crazy about my GSS strand from Cees, and I've told her she can wear it any time, but so far she seems to prefer to admire it on me.

Stunning ropes battah!

BWeaves, your new little h geode pendant is a work of art. It looks beautiful on you.

Pearl Dreams, WOW! This is my dream Tahitian strand - not to big, lovely, round, bright, lustrous pearls! And those colours!!! Amazing.

hanadama, my D actually didn't like the fact that it was multicolored! She has this idea that Tahitians should all be black (not that she wants a solid black strand, either.)

She like shoes and handbags, like my mother did. Maybe pearl love is just skipping a generation; maybe she'll have a daughter who will like them.

OMG my Mom thinks Tahitian should be uniformly dark. I wish she had better access to better pearls cuz I'm going to end up inheriting her dark color klonker with no overtones at some point down the road. *cry*

Maybe you'll be able to restring them with other colors, or even gemstones, interspersed.

BWeaves, that geode pendant is TDF! PD, you really scored with that strand, it's completely gorgeous and I love that your husband wears it too! That's very cool. I wish I could get mine to wear Tahitians, he'd look hot in them. Hmmm must figure something out for him...

Battah, on the other hand, if your husband doesn't want to wear Tahitians it just means more for you!

I just got these earrings from Sarah at Kojima. I probably could have bought them at Ruckus, but I was so distracted. They're blue grey drops (probably dyed freshwater) on silver with rhodium plated hoops with topazes. I've been wanting a white metal huggie with blue drop for a long time, and I got the coffee bean shaped drops from Sarah a year ago and love them. But I only have yellow gold hoops to wear them on and I've been wanting white. Well, these aren't gold or diamonds, but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

And they came with these cute keychains with baby pearls in baby shells.

AAAHHHHHHHH!!!! THOSE SPATS with baby pearls (haha thanks new PearlsAsOne course!) are SSOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!

Love your new earrings BWeaves! And those key rings are so cute!

Pearl Dreams, I'm sure she will change her mind regarding the pearls. In the meantime I'm glad that you (and hubby) can enjoy the beautiful pearls!

I didn't fall in love with pearls until my mid- late twenties, and even then I've only just begun to appreciate the beauty of Tahitians (and their spectacular colours)! She's only young! And a strand of pearls probably just isn't to her taste right yet. I'm almost 30 and I don't own a traditional 18" length strand of anything yet! It's just not me. I much prefer pendants and long ropes but I'm sure this will change.
