Save the Date: Pearl Guide Summer Ruckus 2011

Just back this a.m. from Guatemala, so I was eager to catch up on the news as plans unfold. The mansion looks/sounds lovely (not to mention the menu!!!), but I am a little anxious about the prospect of driving back and forth from El Segundo to enjoy the festivities and people's company, so am wondering about the final decision as to how many revelers the "mansion" can accomodate, and the cost per head.

I'm a little befuddled from a long travel day, so can't say for certain whether or not I'll be able to demonstrate the wire knitting (would have to find equipment), but I'm afraid this particular technique requires a special tool, so I wouldn't be able to conduct an actual workshop this time around. If some other sort of brilliant idea pops into my addled head, I'll post back!

So sorry I won't see you, smeltzer and pearly shell! Hoping your plans might yet change...

Sheri

No cost per head for the mansion. It's covered;)

We are currently looking for cots/aero bed and bedding rentals. This is going to be an interesting set up, but we are trying to figure it out!

Holy Cats, I just read that menu - now I'm lying on the floor kicking and screaming. Can anyone remind me why I'm not going?

I told you: Jeremy treats his friends like true Princes and Princesses...True Nacreous Nobility... no more and no less :)

Thanks Caitlin , for the update on materials for "skill-share". I will be sure to pack my treasured books as well. Really looking forward to meeting everyone again! What a special time it shall be. Pearls in a palace! So fitting! Cheers, Sarah

I am going to try to put together a final count today for the caterers. Anybody else coming? Speak now or forever hold your pearl!

OH! COME ON! This is just cruel. I could rationalize last year's disappointment (at not being able to attend) by "well, there's no Cook" but this year!!! no comfort, all PAIN...

Looks like Josh is listed twice, unless there are 2 different Joshes.

Kether is not coming, so I am alone. She is working in Phx including most Saturdays on a big computer upgrade for her govt job and looking to make a good career move out of it. I posted that before- I thought I did. Sorry! ONE less cot needed!

I think the list is missing KarinK (?) & spouse from Denmark. The couple that is in Portland right now, who came to Patty's mini-ruckus.

So is that a +2 for sure? I didn't see it in this thread, and if they are are traveling they might not be able to confirm.

Wendy? Who is Wendy?

Nevermind, she is lillyfuzzysocks. I misread her post and thought she's KarinK and thought Karin is coming. Sorry.

KarinK and family are summering in Portland. We visited last Friday at Pattye's and they did not mention anything about attending the ruckus.
Nice folk!

I think I can safely speak for Karink--attending the LA Ruckus was not in their plans at all.

Hi Jeremy,

Just saw my name on your list. I know that I would love to come but I also know that I haven't planned to do so. On the other hand Peter, my husband, has been asking a lot of questions about the ruckus and it was my birthday two days ago, so I have to say that I didn't put us on the list but if Peter has through a connection from our evening at Pattye's, it is probably valid, and I will pretend not to know.

Off hand I don't know anything about us coming down from Portland.

- Karin
