Restyled & Recycled Jewelry Challenge!

That rope is so beautiful Newberry. I've learned too, that waiting for Sarah's genius to strike is ALWAYS worth the wait :)

Hi Everyone! I rework my stuff ALL THE TIME and have a load of materials here. Many projects I have shared in the past on PG, so I’ll just post a representative picture and reference the thread so I don’t clog it up here too too much.

Haha Pattye and Cathy, as promised… Here they come!

Hot Air Balloon Festival

Haha, my entire family of hot air balloon festival. Most are built from scratch, but check out the GSSP balloon second in from the right, it is a rework of a pendant that I flipped up side down. I shared the entire journey on failed experiments to components used to final products!

Shoulder Dusters
I actually built the left two pairs of earrings from mismatched pendants and findings! And the little baby blue akoyas on the left pair are shortened from an akoya Tahitian ombre bracelet.

Klonker Earrings: Here is another earring example, 3 pairs of pearls shortened from mom’s 3 different strands, so quite the sentimental piece! Oh and that kitty below is Toro, our family cat (guarding the pearls from me lol).

Emily Thorne (and the rest of the Revenge character family)

I’ve done some massive scale project in the Revenge thread with Victoria Grayson, Emily Thorne, and Amanda Clark.
https://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/showthread.php?10154-My-new-Revenge-Victoria-Grayson-strand!!!

Emily thorn is the most interesting rework that went through a few renditions.
https://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/s...yson-strand!!!&p=145752&viewfull=1#post145752

It started off as a plain necklace from mom, which I torn up and layered in art deco elements (to be featured again later), which I later repurposed again and added on other strands to create the final Emily Thorne.

Now here are the new stuff I have not shared as much on PG before.

Vintage Redux
I went through an entire phase of vintage redux. Pairing pearls with vintage art deco dress clips, brooches, etc. I also liked pairing those with vintage mechanical fob watches. Or even better, brooch with a watch on it? Haha.

Here are some conversion of Victorian paste belt/shoe clip and pearl necklaces I dismantled lol.
You can see one where I took out the “clip” part, and another one where I left it intact.
I painstakingly inserted bronze jump rings onto the dress clip, then loop soft flex through them and strung the pearls on.

While we are here, I saw in some other thread (can’t remember where) of how do we put on bracelet’s by yourself? Tada!

The Gemstone Series

Last but not least, here is another series of rework that I loved.

The longest strand with the labradorites is composed of a number of baby gold bracelets I had when I was younger that I no longer wear. They are connected intact, and I can still remove them individually anytime.

The middle strand with rhodolite is made with a pair of vintage carved jade earrings! I painstakingly constructed the interconnected loops with baby seed pearls and more rhodolites using soft flex and enclosing them with crimping beads. Given the small size of the loops, it was rather challenging to do.

The innermost strand with neon blue apatite is a vintage chinese enamel clip. Again, constructed interconnected loops by hand.

I unfortunately don’t have much before and after pics since I did these a while back. But here are some close-ups.

And see, this is how the pair of earring would hang before being reworked.

Other examples in this series.

Phew, those are the main groups of my reworks... I think I'm done, for now. Lol hands tired already just from these postings! ;)

I love all of your creative and inspirational designs, Purranha. Thank you for posting, as it gives others lots of ideas.

I have a soft spot for the golden ombre rope. I had originally purchased the 24 kt golden SS strand, then sold it to you and KaySD to split. So, here is another before photo of that strand, part of which went into your rope.

Yah!!! Thank you for posting and sharing Red! Yes I think I detailed the story of the split in the Revenge thread. I love having all these "sibling" pieces with you ladies, really make the pieces so much more special to me! <3

Purr, your hot air balloons are still my favs!
I don't recall seeing those Tahitian/Golden/White earrings before...they are really pretty. Are they in grey rhodium? I think I may need an ear shot.

And ETA: Purr, you get the restyle Queen award!

Aww thank you JP! Haha I do enjoy playing around with existing pieces and making new pieces out of them.
The triple decker is made with white gold then planted to give it antiquish blackened gold look.
I love it and wore it everywhere though it just borderlines on being a bit too heavy (with lobe wonder).
It is currently taking a rest rotating in the safe but I'm posting some actions shots from the past!

OMG haha found another iteration of the triple decker before the final one. I wire wrapped it with silver and a citrine drop before mom took it to her jeweler to make it a "proper" jewelry lol.

Before. I thought I did a fairly decent wire wrapping job, but still...

Best post you've ever made Purranha ... "Mom steals the jewelry back to make it into PROPER jewelry ..." LOL! She certainly did; those earrings are sensational, in both versions :)

Your jewelry revisions are brilliantly creative, and such a treat to see. That Blue Crab might need to make the acquaintance of Sheri's pieces ...

Yes, "What she said.". Your Mom is most excellent.
