Got my strand from TPO! I like it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it yet. I think I'll go poll a few friends.

Looks like you have the perfect coloring for that beautiful strand, it looks terrific!
Thanks for modeling!

p.s. Bet an enhancer would be gorgeous on those pearls also!

I think those are really beautiful! Hope you keep them - they look great on you!

Whether or not you keep it, I think you just made a lot of people fall in love! ;)

Very nice! :)

And potentially dangerous... seeing those calls out for pointing at a pearl and asking for a whole strand of 'that' color! This might sound silly on a pearl forum... but it was the first thing three non-pearly colleagues did seeing these today; 'could be my fault - I showed the pictures trying to explain that there are actual choices behind 'pink-peach-white';

(easy to turn poetic!)

Is there something else that you "I spy with my little eye?" Because I think they are marvelous and you'd miss them if you didn't keep them. Between the pink and lavender, what tough decisions!

This probably should go under my own beading projects, but I thought it'd be nice. I made this from 7.5-9.2mm lavender, peach and white freshwater pearls. Some are a bit eggy and I couldn't get the size graduated exact - bought the same size pearls for the white, peach and lavender which turned out to be all different. Peach were bigger. Ended up getting an extra 9-10mm lavender to make it up to the correct graduation. But luster is metallic with sharp mirror like reflections, there is visible chromatic variation in the smaller lavenders, and surface is mostly clean. I give it a pass for AA+. I have two more of the same to make, with slightly different numbers of the colored pearls. Will gift one as a X'mas present, keep one for myself and one for my mom depending on which length looks best. This current one clocks in just over 19" including the sterling silver magnetic ball clasp. I think I did well.

Now I actually have to go do useful work and make dinner.

I think this will do. Will post comparison pics after I finish the other two strands.

Very well done. I find the order you've put the different colors very appealing. And yes, please, can we see the comparison pics when you finish the other strands?!

The sunlight makes the outermost strand look more peach. It's the same color.

I also think I ruined my threadzapper. The tip doesn't seem to get hot. The switched has sprung out and I managed to put it back in place with the cap so the circuit isn't complete, but the battery, not the tip gets really hot. I don't know if I reversed the polarity of the battery by mistake when I changed it.

EMERGENCY! THREAD ZAPPER DOWN! Sounds odd. Get another one. Can't live without it.

I love those strands! What are you going to do with them? Wear them all together or give the remainders to friends and family so you can have a matching pearl cliche?

LOL, now that's an idea. Imagine the whole lot of us going out with matching outfits and pearl necklaces!

I figured the threadzapper out. I did put the battery in wrong and shorted it. Works alright now. No damage done.

Raison, you NEED your thread zapper... mine being suddenly absent when I moved house is the reason I had the gap in the Tahitian strand.

However, I also must give you a HUGE congrats on the graduated colour strand - very very nicely done. You did indeed do well.

I had the oddest number of pearls left over. Ordinarily you'd expect four pure colored strands to give 4 strands graduated. But because the peach ones were too big, I couldn't use most of it, so I ended up using more of the deeper colored lavenders and divided it amongst 3 strands, picked out as many of the the largest of the smaller lavender strand to fill in, and 10 of the smallest of the peach ones before making up length with the white ones I had left over from my lampwork rosebud/pearl necklace. So now I have the bigger peach ones and the smaller lavender ones left, which I might just tack on to the other strand it came with (these two came in doubles) to make a longer strand that I may or may not wear. Does this even make sense?

Yes, perfect sense...bracelets? peach bracelets? a white bracelet?
a different colour permutation of peach and white?
peach pearl and some lampwork or other beads?
