Pearl Paradise Baroque Tahitian & some exotics pictures

Hi,

I promised to post pictures when my baroque Tahitian strand arrives from this thread here:

I chose this strand with silver body and green/peacock overtone:

I tried to capture the rose overtone in the pictures but it barely came out. I am very happy with my purchase. By the way, I went to the Gem show today. I could not go to the wholesale section. The retail section's pricing was not as attractive as our online vendors here. I saw a multi-color Tahitian drop baroque strand, very nice, probably AAA. The retail price was $3400, he said he'd give me the whole sale price for $1360 and pay for the clasp in addition to that. The size is 8.13 mm to 10.3mm. PP has a AAA strand here about the same size for $500: http://www.pearlparadise.com/detail.aspx?ID=2122. It is harder to match a strand like this than a multi-color one due to uniformity.

I've noticed that as I've gained weight this last 18 months, my pearls are all turning into chokers! Time to reverse that trend...

Those oval pearls are so nice and plump-the best I have seen (except other P-Gers' from the exotic offering). I didn't buy any because I didn't like the shape in general-before that offering. Now I am sorry I didn't!

I agree, thanks Hanaleimom for the pics! I prefer seeing pics of the strand on necks too, and gosh, you do have such a nice slender neck. Mine look noticeably shorter on my neck, heh.

Fabulous pearls!! I love them all. They look lovely on your neck. I love your choice of the Tahitian strand. The lighter body color goes well with your skin tone. I want one just like it.

I never get tired of seeing photos of the exotics-- and I think those are the first photos of the 9-10mm rounds that have been posted. They look fantastic!

Hanaleimom, the 9 - 10 exotics are fabulous. You must be really very pleased though with all your purchases - they look great on you, and wow, you have a lovely collection now. I think you chose very well with the tahitians - they suit you perfectly, and I bet they feel fantastic on!

and congratulations to your lovely and "huge" pearlstrands. And on the neck they look fabulously, not too huge despite your slender neck! I take it that the strands are 18" or were they a bit longer since they reach so far down. Well, probably it is your slender neck!

I must say, the double ovals are relly something to look at. As you know I am a traditionalist reg roundness, but these ovals really are outstanding both the luster and the combined shape.

Your round large exotics are lovely too, mind me sticking out my neck here so to speak: once you can string by yourself I would suggest the change of a pearl, perhaps even some more: there is a light coloured large pearl (whitish/rose) the 7. counted from the center pearl on the right seen from me as a viewer, which does look a bit large, if you get i nearer the center, it probably looks even better, just count on every side and change so you have 2 pearls opposite that match (there is a pearl on the left, just the same colour, that would be perfect as the opposite one, I think and the "colourflow" would harmonize better if the 2 rose ones would be opposites as well.

In one of my smaller exotics I had the same problem: the pearl is not really larger but the colour does make it look that way and it disturbs my feeling of a perfectly strung necklace!

But Cathy, please don?t you fret about this but wear your strand until you are ready to restring it. I hope I am not the only one reacting to that pearl, that is not my intention but being a stickler for perfection and you having such an extraordinary strand, I just can?t keep my mouth shut! The colours on it seem to be very lovely too and a strand of that uniformity is something I always have admired.

So please, don?t be disappointed or get angry with me, but your collection is so beautiful (that goes for the Tahitians as well), I just think You should have everything absolutely perfect.
