Not a friendly design.....

The strand in avatar was made from two strands of multicolor pearls. 9-10mm
I combined them, re-arranging the order they were placed and discarding half of them because they did not fit in due to size, color or quality. Then, one year later I cut this strand and made something else with the pearls. My husband always said that my pearls are very cheap way to keep me busy.... One strand keeps me entertained for years.....

Or did you just nestle the strands together, guessing at lengths? Thanks

I was placing strands on a towel in an almost circle, aligned at one end and making every strand about one cm longer than the one before on the other end and deciding where to add the bigger pearls. Then I said a prayer and started attaching them to the one end of the clasp and knotting before and after big pearl. Then I checked the length of the strands again while having them hunging straight down. Every strand was adjusted to have them about half an inch longer from strand to strand. Then I attached the other ends to the clasp. This is why those three bigger pearls ended up aligned.. When hunging down pearls look to have right spacing, but once around my neck, mistake became obvious. Well.... I'm not saying that I know it all......

funny how 6.5-7mm pearls seam big mixed with 2mm ones... Everything is relative LoL..

Normally 6-7mm pearls are small by my standards.
