Newbie - first purchase questions

No, I certainly do not think that the 8.5-9mm freshwaters would be OTT or be considered a statement necklace (although I would agree with Pearl Dreams on the expensive akoya strand). I was referring to my preference for larger mm/statement strands even though I am small in stature  But I also really like ropes or multiple strands done with small mm pearls. You can't go wrong if you select the size that you think looks best on you and you think you would feel comfortable wearing. The glamour shots are the photo(s) of the pearls from the website (if available). You can always call PP or use their online chat feature to connect with a cs rep to help you with your purchases.

Ooohhhh....

Hubby knows I really want strand, studs, dangles and am toying with the bracelet idea.... and has just said he'd look at the budget to see if any (or possibly all) are feasible, especially as he knows I'd really prefer to order at the same time for matching.

Depends on the budget - and if the rumored 20% off all lines sale comes to pass.

Just got to wait on that, and decide if I'd wear a bracelet. I thought it might be nice to wear with the dangles...

Just sharing that I *finally* ordered today! Strand, bracelet, studs and dangles, all 8.5-9mm Freshadama, set with yellow gold findings. I requested a silver overtone.

Too excited! Thanks to all here - you all helped me choose :) Now the long wait - I chose cheapskate shipping and I'm in Australia, so it will be several weeks...

Congratulations on making the leap. You'll be very happy with them. Be sure to post photos when you get them!

I hope so! Mia from PP was just so helpful and gave the set discount across all four pieces, plus I used the 20% code so a fantastic saving. I should be all set for a classic white set :)

Already daydreaming about my next acquisition, though it won't be this year. Baroque Tahitians, probably a strand and dangles, though a tin cup is a possibility!

Congrats Blossy! Looking forward to your review when you receive them

Lol can't wait. I ordered a week ago, just got notification overnight that they've been shipped.

Weeeeeee!!!!!!

Package one of two arrived today, I'm yet to open it (feeding baby right now then desparately need to get dinner on the table) but I will post an update soon. The box should have my strand and studs in it :)

I'll have to attempt a photo later, as I don't think I can get a nice shot until daylight:). Actually I'm not sure i can get a good look myself until tomorrow as I'm thinking yellowish bulbs inside are not the best for viewing :)

So far I'm happy. It may just be the light but I think I see orient, unless my strand has rose overtones (however I did ask for silver). They seem pretty round to a novice like me, and I can see a few pits in some of them. I'm not sure if its a blemish or a scratch but i did notice a big mark almost like chalk on one, except it doesn't brush off.

Length and size were perfect, and the studs are just right on me :)

Ok, some pictures. Apologies as they are just taken with a phone. They look more silver overtoned when worn, to me the paper towel picture makes them look ivory-rose.

Gorgeous! I think that was a good choice to forgo the bracelet and dangles in exchange for the larger pears. That strand is a real head turner!

Lol Sea Urchin, I bought the dangles and bracelet too - still waiting on those :)

They are all 8.5-9mm Freshadama.

What do you think about the overtone? They don't look overly creamy or rose when I look at them, but against the paper towel they look very creamy to me. I don't really see silver at all.

I can see my reflection in the lustre but agree its a soft lustre rather than Akoya sharp.

Agree, I was surprised that the paper towel shot was so different.

What a terrific choice! Dang, that is one of the prettiest neck shots ever. And to think you have more coming... ;)

Congrats...... They are beautiful! The size suits you - good choice. I see silver overtones on your neck shot.
