Those are are great. Gumdrop Tahitians! I want an armload of them. Sorry, I am not usually a shopper, but these are just the happiest pearls strands I have seen in a while. I just love the ones that put a smile on the face.
OK Jose. You busted in here Big Time with these catching strands. You can tell them, I wasn't bribed to say that either.....I grabbed the photo of the first one off the net illegally (with my "grabbit" program) because you have some kind of block on right-clicking. BUT, I put it as my desktop photo. I just wish I could put it over here too, because long after you change your webpage, there will be a record of them here. What provenance for the person who bought them, eh?
These pearls, like the color shifting pearls Jeremy put together are fabulous ideas. Both of these offerings are specially sorted to make memorable necklaces. I know I have enough pearls, but when I see special strands like the color shifting pearls Jeremy briefly offered and these gumdrop pearls, I realize there is a real niche for special pearl designs like these. But I even loved the zebra pearls......which cost too much for painted on stripes! (remember those?)
You just can't get bored with pearls when people are putting together strands like these! I can't tell you how tempted I am to use, BillMeLater.....

Yes, I LOOOOOOOOVE the Tahitians that have more than one colour stripe on them! They're just AMAZING. It almost becomes more about "HOW does that HAPPEN?" than about the whole of the piece to me (if that make sense?) And they have some very nice strands on that website (for really good prices). I was eyeing a couple of strands on there before I lost my mind and bought the vintage one last week (still waiting - stupid Canadian customs!!!!)

I have also received much encouragement from other forum members to join (hi to Newberry and other pearl friends!).
Caitlin, thanks so much for the compliments on the strand(s). I think the multi-color rings are incredibly cool, too! And silver-is-the-new-gold is definitely one of our favorite mantras at the moment
Then again, gold is so affordable since it took a dive to "only" $1600/ounce ;-) BTW, we didn't intentionally prevent right-mouse click grabbing of photos, I think it's just the zoom plug-in that is interfering with that option. But it sounds like grabbit took care of the problem! At some point we may need to watermark our photos: I remember there was a guy in the Netherlands selling our website items on "a well-known auction site" without our permission for ~twice our price. Needless to say, he did not contact us for permission ahead of listing the auctions using our pics and specs! I trust he's gone now (but I did notice he was slow to notice that we had already sold many of the strands he was trying to resell - thank goodness no one bought from him). Nice to "see" you here in Pearl-Guide.com, Jose. I myself recently joined the site and I've found it very informative and interesting. It is a rich resource of information on pearls.
I am glad to share pictures and information on the nice strand I got from TahitianPearls.biz. It is a lovely and interesting strand. I was initially searching for white and golden south sea pearl strands. However, most of them were out of my budget. Then the multi-colored and the pistachio tahitians caught my interest. I found them quirky and unusual. I am glad I got them for my sister's birthday.
I can vouch for Jose's excellent customer service. He was very helpful throughout the buying process. He sent me pictures of strands that were not yet posted in the website. When I had some problems with payment through paypal, he patiently assisted me until we sorted it out.

Hi Katbran! Yes, this is an enthusiastic group. We do ship to Australia, but our automated credit card authorization system does not seem to do well with non-US credit cards. Also, we tend to treat overseas shipping on a country-by-country basis, as there are so many country-specific restrictions for shipping by post. Fortunately, Australia is one of the best for shipping jewelry, and we have had 100% success rate in our packages to Australia. BTW, France is another subject entirely - if anyone on the forum has insights on how to ship jewelry to France, I'd love to hear them! We have had no success shipping by post or Fedex to France.

Hi Caitlin! The photo of the multi strand which is the subject of the thread (the photo that I linked to in an earlier post) now no longer has a webpage associated with it. We used the same product page to add a new multicolor strand to the site, at the same pricepoint. I guess we should kept the product page intact (making a new one for the new strand) and just moved the sold product page to one of the later catalog pages instead - less confusing and then the info would still be there.
I agree, Caitlin, keshis are great, aren't they? So far, we have only been making strands out of the particularly large keshis (well, 'large' by keshi standards that is! our jeweler is not a fan of drilling the small ones and gets a little cranky if we ask for a small keshi strand). We have lots of small keshis and the pricepoint is better - we should make a loose pearls section and sell them loose. They're also great for half-drilling - not nearly as tedious as trying to get a good full-drill on a small keshi. So many plans, so little time!

I find myself collecting pearls, but it has become part of my magical path through the fairyland of pearls. I have more necklaces than I can wear, unless I wear them out weeding! (which I do unless it is sweaty out there) so no pearls outside in the summer on the sweaty neck. Thankfully summer is at an end and it is time to wear pearls again!.
Once you get pearl fever, one of its symptoms is the acquisition of pearls. My patterns of pearl buying have changed after learning about pearls on Pearl-Guide. !!!!!!!!! First I got kilos of the beading varieties, made them up and sold them to get more pearls, then I started getting strands of the good ones, and designing each one ten different ways! Then I started on singletons as samples for personal use and viewing pleasure.
Each pearl fever runs its own course, of course! Yours could run the other way around, like from pendents to strands to kilos!

Don't. The only way we get things into France is with a broker located in France, so we ship one package every 1-2 weeks and then have an office in France handle shipments to individual customers. Trying to ship direct is a nightmare (customs stops the package for no reason, it gets sent back, it just *disappears*).

Are you both using Fedex? then that is your reason. I won't use fedex. They are the customs problem. In the UK at any rate each shipping company handles customs clearance through their own staff (apart from UPS who can't any more)
Try DHL. I have had shipments from China door to door in three days. no customs problems at all. Fedex tried to charge duty on loose pearls, UPS spent days dithering.
