I do recommend Imogene. Kathryn's shop lives inside an antiques store at the end of the strip of Clifton Hill shops. Her contact details are on the internet. Clifton Hill is a suburb close to th city.

Each of my three ropes I bought from Kathryn (the two mixed south seas and the drop Tahitians) I bought from off her neck! She is a properly knowledgable pearl person. She also has lovely sapphire rings and other lovely things. My advice would be to call ahead and ask for what you might be interested in seeing in case she needs to bring it from offsite or speak to her suppliers. I wouldn't usually recommend a bricks and mortar shop but this is no usual jewellery store with clueless salespeople or poor quality pearls, and it doesn't have huge overheads to maintain.

I do like Jan Logan in Collins St, but this often comes with Collins St prices. The store is at the top end of town with Chanel, Prada etc. I bought the huge roundish Tahitians rope from there but it was a one-off.

Here are some more keshi from Catherine Cardellini. This one is a long rope, it's gorgeous. The bronzes are coming out strongly - in real life these and the keshi above are much more blue.

Here are a couple of the rounds with keshi strands that Catherine does so well. I'll try neck shots of these, they make all the difference. It was babynurse's photos that got me into these and Catherine's range of fwp keshi. Photos 2 and 3 are the same strand. Photo 4 shows the two together.

These are Pearl Paradise Tahitians from the 2014 Tahitian sale. I bought three strands and this is around 50 inches of them. I think they are around 8.5-11.2.

Appreciate the tips. I email and see if I can make it for a visit. We are staying at Clayton as the hub gotta be at Monash university for work.

Beautiful pearls - all of them. I remember looking at that keshi rope with the petal like keshis on Catherine Cardellinis website and contemplating buying it because it looked so beautiful. I am glad it found a good home.
