Love the blues, love the akoya, well I love everything on this page! Looking forward to seeing your new earrings and pendants! Cant have too many of those!
Thank you eolian pearls. I tried to update my post with some new photos of the akoya tincup, because I didn't like the old ones. So I retook them. Anyway, couldn't save it. It got reported as spam...
I hope that you can see them now. Very pretty those akoyas. The purply brown tahitian is a charm. I usually adds charms to my tincups, to give them a bit of weight do that they woun't shift. And they are pretty.
These last pictures really show the amazing overtones of the blues, so so pretty! Blue akoyas and colorful tahitians are my favorite pearls, yours are such a pleasure to look at!
And for my blue pearls, I think that I only have the tahitians left. Earrings first. My amazing blue tahitian studs from Pearlescence and my silvery blue tahitian studs from cmw pearls.
Then my blue tahitian bracelet from cmw pearls
My favorite blue tahitian strand, the one Wendy found for me in Hongkong
My ombre waverope with tiny blue Alexander Collins tahitians from Pearlescence and silver tahitians from Cees.
And finally my ombre silver blue to blue purple tahitian rope from cmw pearls.
Still no deep golden circled pearls from Druzydesign, they are being hostage by the swedish postal service. ...I hope that they all looks like this when they arrive.
I wore them eolian pearls style with my pale golden south sea bracelet, an extender and an enhancer from Pearlsociety yesterday.
With my deep golden south sea studs from Pearlescence. I wear these a lot. Maybe I should get a backup if I loose one. I use those huge silikon backings that keeps them securly on my earlobes but still.
Funnily enough I don't feel a need to back up on any other earrings, strands or bracelets. Weird that.
Thank you StarryPearl, overtones or orient. Sometimes I'm not sure. I was delighted when I got these, they were so much prettier in real life than in Druzydesigns photos and her photos are good.
Yup! There is orient in them pearls!
I usually can distinguish overtones better if I use the "water test" on pearls. If I see clearly defined concentric rings of color on the pearl I say Overtones...if just intense iridescence I will call it Orient.
But you may indeed have both there!
After making my ombre ombre strand with pearls from Pearlescence and Druzydesign I had a lot of darker pearls leftover, since I basically took all light, blue and green ones. Lots of peacocks as well. I did remake those small tahitians from Druzydesign into a strand, but well it needed something. I tried a layout of white south sea pearls, making a bracelet, then I tried a randomly placed layout of mixed sizes roundish pearls. It's dark but the mixed sizes makes it interesting to look at. It's very different from both the ombre ombre strand and my mixed sizes tahitian rope.
And it's more random both in sizes and in color compared with my ombre ombre strand.
