Good day to all. I sold a lesser strand of pearls last weekend and decided that ..well..you know how it goes..there was now room for another..ha ha
I came upon this Vintage strand and earring set in the original case. First off..I am cautious about buying pearls that are not knotted in between, have learned from experience pearls are known to migrate from one case to another and lastly a silver clasp does not usually garner more than a swift glance.
That being said I did some research not having ever heard of "Fuji Pearl- Cultured Pearl- Ginza Tokyo". My research verified the clasp, the lack of knotting and the FP on the earrings..so I bought them. They are not the largest of pearls but they sure do have an amazing luster- they pick up colors and bounce them right back- a challenge to photograph.
Thinking they are Akoya- from one of the few references to this brand they were pre WW II contemporaries to Mikimoto- in fact the same source stated they were closed at the onset of the WW II. That said, I deffer to the expertise here on Pearl-Guide.
Any thoughts and knowledge you have, feel free to share as I hold members on the site in high regard. Hopefully my questions add to the sites knowledge base too.
Here are the images of the pearls- I do enjoy sharing my occasional find with everyone on Pearl-Guide.
