Got my order! Apparently when you use DHL with Wen, it takes 10 days to get the package to the DHL office, then two days to get to the East Coast
Overall, I like my stuff. On the Tahitians, I generally prefer more aubergine or blue tones and that's what I already have, and these are mostly green, so it's hard to compare them. But the surfaces are pretty clean and the luster is nice, and I don't see any that I need to toss. I haven't had great natural light for pictures, as it's pretty overcast here today, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they pop on a brighter day.
On the nuggets, they speak for themselves - pretty, cheapie freshies (for a project my mom requested).
On the akoyas, overall I think they're pretty for the price. They were pretty cheap, and they definitely don't really look like I paid a lot for them. They seem to have fairly thin nacre (some of them have tiny tails so you can see it), and I suspect they're dyed. Also, they show blues and pinks and greens like orient, but it's kind of on the surface and doesn't move around as I turn the pearls the way orient does, if that makes sense? So I think it's just a nice dye job. But they're pretty and I'll probably get some more to make myself a fun, inexpensive rope, because why not?
On to pictures! The first picture is just my Wen order. The rest are different comparison shots, with the Tahitians I got at Intergem (the short strand with the spacers, which JerseyPearl most graciously drilled for me), and my Tahitian and akoya keshi strand (pearls from PP). It's comparing apples to oranges because the pearls are pretty different, so they aren't great comparators, but that's what I have!
