Hi, I got this chubby Tahitian drop but have no idea/inspiration for setting it into a pendant. So I'm turning to you pearl friends for help. Hope you can share your suggestions/links and TIA!

It measures 14.5 to 16.8 mm, and has a noticeable 'nipple' (sorry, not trying to offend anyone but I really don't know how else to describe it) at the top that will need to be hiddened by the setting.

I used a fold-over clasp part as an enhancer pendant finding on my Edison drop pendant. It looks good on a gold chain or leather cord, as well as attached to my diamond circle clasp.

Mine is the KGH 517. The 516 (shown in yellow gold) looks to have a smaller cap diameter -- depending on the exact size of the "nipple" area you are trying to cover. (My pearl had a wide, flattish top.) Just a slightly different option to consider.

I love that style Sea Urchin!

Also IMHO that tahitian is screaming for a pop of color to bring ut the gorgeous rainbows it has! If it where me, I would go with green or maybe a nice pink sapphire.

Ooh I second the idea of pink sapphires, on white metal.

Thank you for all your suggestions!

I think pairing the pearl with some colored stones is a fab suggestion. Guess I'll bring the pearl to the workshop and see what they have/suggest. Will also keep a lookout for nice settings at the upcoming local jewellery fair.

Was browsing for pearls with colored stones settings and found this:

The stone and setting is a bit too elaborate for me but the simple pave cap on the pearl could be an option too.

How do you ladies look for setting inspirations btw? Are there better alternatives than to browse results/images from Google searches?

Wow, those are some gorgeous settings! I love the just pave cap idea, simple with just enough bling.

How about something like this, if a cap ends up looking a little too "lightbulby"? Not sure if the swirl would totally obscure the nub, but it would at least make it less prominent

Mmmm..love love love that last one you posted, Icyjade. They are all delicious though.

Thanks, it's great to hear back on what everyone prefers. I haven't decided yet but I'm sure budget will have a part to play too.
But I may just keep the pearl till I see a setting that I know will be perfect...

Btw if you liked the last pic I posted with the gold bail, more pics here:

It looks like a commercially bought bail and I wonder which vendor sells that bail?

Chroman: I thought about a swirly cap but wanted something a bit simpler in design. But thanks for sharing. :)
