@dk the ones you eat are young ones most of the time so the chance is very little most big blisters are in the super large ones because there old and had lot of parasite attacks i bought 10 abalone on ebay the last year all large size 8 or 9 inch plus

Just to add a new blister pearl to the group of excellent photos offered by DMJ and Lagoon Island Pearls...these are natural blisters from the Rainbow Lipped Pearl Oyster (Pteria sterna).

I think I have a natural blister pearl

I have many shells but one of them it seems very special.I happily found this forum and I found that I might have a blister pearl or...a conjunction?!I will post soon some photos of the shell.I just wanted to say that I have one and I am happy I think I will transform the shell in a pendant/ring

took me a while to get started but the next few months i will be using the natural pinctada maculata, poe pipi blister shells to make some pendants here the first one i did earlier today

i bought some shells with huge blister 2 years ago from a nz dealer only each time i think about making something with them i think they look so good just as a blister so i leave them in there one day i will maybe take them out the shell
