As for the sale--I waited too long--had to go to a meeting (rats) just after the sales appeared. The meeting was too long---the pearls I picked were long gone!

I'm #2 and #3 so I can get all fangirl crazy up in here. I didn't get any tahitians yet. I'm waiting on some pics in natural lighting and deciding whether I should get the lovely monthly special.

However, I'd like to say congrats on your quick snatchings! I was fortunate to receive the email right away and despite having a ton of work w/ deadlines, I zoooooooomed to PP and went through the Mother's Day selections like there was no tomorrow.

Please oh please post pics when any of you receive your pearls. I would love to see them in less than perfect lighting since most of the time I'm surrounded by icky florescent lighting or the wonderful sun.

Stringing is really easy-- why not learn to do it yourself? At the rate you're buying, you'll want to know how to maintain your strands long term.

For the record, I've bought 4 strands in the past couple months, only 2 of which I'll keep/have kept. I return almost everything though, because I'm a perfectionist. On second thought, I only actually own 3 strands (blue akoya, pink freshadama, and white freshadama). Hmm.. so I suppose I buy more earrings/littler things than anything else.

Ahh, ok. Totally didn't mean it in a negative way, it just seemed like you were building up a necklace wardrobe. Perhaps I was projecting... I'm coming up on my first pearl purchase anniversary and my rationale for learning to string was to be self sufficient in terms of pearl care.

And now it's more of a panic-induced response to all the random pearls I need to deal with in some way.

My PP strand arrives today. When I was speed shopping, I narrowed down to these two:

They are both beautiful with the rich peacock overtone. The bottom strand is similar to something I already have. I was more attracted to the top strand with deep purple, bi-color pearls, and the elegance of the drop shape pearls. Therefore, I purchased # 547. The sharp luster is so amazing, similar to the "loot" pearls. I like how the green pearls pop out against the purple pearls. It is so...breathtaking. I am as pleased as punch.

Here are my photos. Please excuse the neck. I just came back from a haircut this evening. The pearls are more beautiful than pictures. Reducing images made the colors less vibrant.

Absolutely stunning! Mine also came yesterday and I love the sharp luster. I didn't get many bitonal pearls like yours, but there was some of the prized rainbow orient under indirect sunlight. Lighting is so important for pearls! Will take some pics when I'm less sick.

Your strand is beautiful. The majority of the pearls are smooth, without circles. I think it's beautiful. I guess you were looking for something lighter than emerald?

It truly is a beautiful strand but I really am drawn towards purple, blue and silver hues rather than green. I love the dark body color, luster, shape, and surface quality...just don't love the emerald green tones. Actually, the strand I wanted is 546. I think Raj has that strand!
