Chinese student coming to US

Well, looks like I failed the tour guide course! Graceland is in Memphis although Nashville is quite an attraction in it's own right. You'll never be bored, I can guarantee that.

Total tangent, but since you mentioned Nashville, I can't help but mention a couple of tourist-friendly options that diverge from the notoriously tacky Nashvegas aesthetic. :D

When I was at Vandy, the northern portion of the Nachez Trace closest to Nashville, particularly the parkway arch bridge, was one of my favorite things about the area. Highly recommended for driving or biking if you ever make it down there.

Also love The Frist, a repurposed Art Deco post office. It's a very small museum/gallery as such things go, but they usually have great exhibitions and the building is amazing.

Vanderbilt's campus is a national arboretum, home to 300 species of trees and shrubs, including one of every species of tree that is indigenous to Tennessee. One of the trees on campus predates the American Revolution. It's a lovely place to take an afternoon walk, if it's not too hot.

I've seen some pictures Yikai sent to me of piles of klonks and the factory.

Yikai
Would you be able to post some here? you also have the possibility of making a photo album in the Profile section.

Those klonks will really get people slobbering over them!

Great! Actually I don't know how to post a picture here, but I will make a photo album in the Profile.:)

Tennessee is absolutely God's country. Chattanooga, Gaitlinburg, and Birdsong if he gets homesick for some pearl farming talk.

I may buy a car then and drive to the places you have mentioned. It would be terrific!:D

Thanks, laurenb. I think I need to buy a car to go to parkway arch bridge. It would be much easier to visit these attactions around Indiana by car. I am definitely gonna buy a car!

Do you live in Tennessee?:)

If your pearls lose luster, you need to do bleaching and polishing.(that's what we do with a pearl necklace which loses luster) Chemicals may be available for you, but you have to get a machine full of corn chips. There are wax on the chips. That's the way we polish. In that way, you can polish the pearls and the pearls can hold the luster longer.

I'm sorry, my family's company does not have a website. They think it's a waste of money while I don't think so. I think we will set up one later when I begin to work. I can send you some pictures about my family's company and pearls.:) My email address is chandler1908@yahoo.cn, send me an email if you want to see them.

P.s Are you from Sweden, jerin? I want to go there to study my master's degree. I'm very interested in a program called "international marketing and brand management" in Lund University.:D

Hi Yikai and thanks again for the information. After reading I think I will do better just to order "The Pearl Doctor" if my pearls need a refreshing. BTW in case anyone thinks I have encountered problems with luster on my CFWPs - that?s not the case, I just wanted to be prepared for the future, so to speak!:):)

It would be lovely if you can post some of those large "Klonks" here as Caitling suggests. The word Klonk was one of Caitlins special explanations for pearls of a certain size, they do sound either like "Klinks" (up to 8 mm), Klanks (up to 11,5 mm) or Klonks (larger then 12 mm);).

And yes, Yikai, I live in Sweden, about 200 km up north from Lund. I also have taken distance courses in English from there. Lund is a very nice town, famous for all its students.

I've made two albums and uploaded many photos in my Profile section.:)
It took me a long time.

Lund University...I hope they will accept me when I apply. I like Sweden. It is so beauiful. Another reason is because I like Inter-Milan(a famous football club in Italy), and its biggest star player is from Sweden!

Thanks for spending so much time here and for posting photos. To post a photo in a thread don't use the quick reply, use the regular reply button. Under your textbox, there is a button that says "manage attachments". Press it and a photo loading box shows up and browse to the picture you want.

Thank you, Caitlin. I know now.:)

Saw your galleries-- absolutely breathtaking! It looks like you have some really deep-colored, dark lavenders in one bundle. Several PG regulars get really excited about those! :)

Thank you, Lauren. It seems you guys are really fascinated with the deep lavenders!:D

Absolutely ! :)

We have many deep lavenders here! You should come to my hometown, and then you can buy them at a very low price!:D

You got that right!
Blue purple is ok too= any overtones on the purple

Deep lavenders are not as common as white ones, but we still have a lot here!:)
