Fine Conch Pearls
The phenomenon is not new, the shelves of pearls retailers are increasing in number in Bora Bora, particularly around the port when boats arrive.
A situation that is denounced by the jewelers and installed providers who sees this as unfair competition or a ?tourists scam?.
These dealers are yet licensed and approved by the mayor of Bora Bora. They have the right to exercise their activity.
Controls are carried out regularly by the military police and the municipal police to check the validity of their licenses. However, these controls do not reassure the jewelers. In fact, the controls would relate only to the licensing and not on the quality of the pearls sold.

I thought all the pearls have to be quality tested? Is this only for export?
