A beautiful work. I wish we could see it when all the stones were still in it. I love the wreath effect of the leaves curving out the top. Is that a moonstone at the bottom?

And the winner is : Nora
Both earrings are Byzantin period 6-7th century AD

First pair are twisted wire, pearls, from Crete

The second one is gold, rock emerald, light blue sapphire and pearls (no moonstones).

These last earrings come with a matched necklace, enjoy !

Roman? It reminds me of that single earring found in Jerusalem not long ago. One of the main reasons for the invasion of England by the Romans was to get hold of the abundant pearls in the rivers (and the garnets also) There was even gold in them thar Welsh hills (the Royal Family still have their wedding rings made from welsh gold)

Etruscan jewelry is known for pulviscolo "fine dust" granulation.
Whole areas were covered with granulation.

Earrings are roman, made of suspended cones with garnets and pearls, 2nd or 3rd century AD.

Does this open...like some kind of a locket? No guess on era at the moment.

It a diamond-set silver and gold reliquary pendant, inside the Madonna and child with the Jesuit device, Spanish or South American. XVII century.
Curious, isn't ??
