Akoya redos

My sampler strand is another redo, with many leftover pearls. In it I used part of an ivory vintage baroque akoya strand that I didn't use anymore, some blue akoyas from Pearlescence leftover from another project, peacock circled tahitians from Druzydesign, off round apricot and pink freshwaters from Pearlunar, white and peach freshwater keshis from Wen Pearls, white ripples from Pearlescence, drop tahitians from Cees and Wen Pearls, huge ripples from Kongspearl and greenish golden south sea pearls from Kongspearl. The strand is made to be very versatile, with two clasps. It can be two strands, one cooltoned and one warmtoned or a long rope. Individually the strands can be worn as a normal strand with the clasp on the back or turned with an enhancer at the clasp. Both the golden enhancer and the tahitian enhancer is from Pearlsociety Pearlsociety.

I remade my blue akoya rope yet again. I didn't like the quality of the grey circled tahitian pearls in the rope, I really liked the greenish golden south sea pearls from though. I didn't have any more of those south sea pearls leftover, so I remade my greenish golden south sea strand and bracelet as well. Bracelet is no more...but the blue akoyas look wonderful with the greenish golden south sea pearls. I used the lighter ones and saved the darker goldens for the other strand (post the other one in my "My pearls" tread. I forgot to measure it but probably something like 38-40 inches long. The blue akoyas are from Pearlescence and the greenish golden south sea pearls from Kongspearl.

Had to use my light box as the natural light was terrible, it doesn't show the luster correctly.

Idk how I missed this entire thread! I really enjoy your redo. Blues are my favorite! I've seen the south seas from Kong's and was curious how they were in real life. Would you say they are a good buy for the prices they have?

lary007, the golden south sea pearls from Kongspearl are a good quality for what they cost. They don't cost so much and are quite blemished. You see it more on the golden strand I posted yesterday on my "my pearls" tread. It's not so much that there are a lot of "fishbites", they are more uneven. It's not like my white south sea strand from Cees, that one is really good.

Charlotta that is a gorgeous blue Akoya and SS strand. I like the cooler colors. All of your necklaces are lovely.

Thank you Gemandpearlover and Pareltje. I like the cooler tones on the strand as well.

After my latest akoya redo, the blue akoya and greenish golden south sea rope, I still had some silvery blue akoyas from the 4 strands I bought from Pearlescence leftover. Today I made strand with those ones and some of the leftover really dark tahitians I bought from Wen Pearls.

Not the best photos, I try to get better one this weekend. It's prettier in real life and great to combine with other strands.

Thank you 86Corvettegirl, the cooler blue and greenish golden colors really work well together. Sometimes it good to store all the leftover pearls in a box all mixed up...makes sorting difficult though...but easier to see what looks great together.

Some better photos of my akoya redos. First the silvery blue akoyas from Pearlescence with the greenish golden south sea pearls from Kongspearl.

Then the blue akoyas from Pearlescence and some really dark tahitians from Wen Pearls.

The green akoyas from Pearlescence with the same dark tahitians, this one I did a while ago.

I used the blue akoya and tahitian strand a lot this week with my rainbow strand.

I redid my vintage akoya and green south sea strand again. I wanted it to have the same clasp as most of my other strands, but the end pearls was to small so I rearranged the order and also removed 6 small pearls since it was a bit long. It's now 18inches.

It's a great strand to layer with other strands.

Thank you Katbran, it makes them look more substantial I think and less strict.

Beautiful work in creating strands that are beautiful and unique Charlotta. I love your greenish SS pearls. I am so drawn to that color.
