That's a fabulous idea KaySD! I got the second 104" harvest rope with the idea of removing a few pearls for earrings ... so far I've been unable to break it up lol.

Love your soufflé ring BN; I admired it greatly when I first started perusing this thread and I love getting to look at it again now. The earrings are adorable, but that ring...it's a scene-stealer, and you wear it so well!

I've noticed you have several really beautiful pearl rings. Do you worry about damage/losing pearls a lot when you wear them? I always had the impression pearls were very difficult to keep in ring settings.

I think if the pearls in my rings were round, I’d be more concerned about damage. The soufflés seem surprisingly rugged and I suspect they could hide scuffs or dings better than say a flawless round. Just the same, I am careful with them and don’t wear them if i’ll be doing anything rough with my hands.

BN, your custom harvest rope is magnificent! I love those GSS and Tahitian keshi earrings every time you post them.

I have 2 leftover 10 mm oval GSS pearls I have been waiting to use for a pair of earrings. Your earrings have inspired me to combine them with 2 blue baroque akoyas from earring jackets I rarely wear to make blue and gold earrings to go with my gold, white and blue harvest rope and also my BBA necklace.

I remember those earring jackets! Didn’t you have them made at the 2016 Ruckus? I seem to remember discussing chain length. I LOVE the idea of combining them with those incredible gss drops! Do you think they may be ready in time for Ruckus?

Good memory. I was getting the length of the earring jackets adjusted at the 2016 Ruckus. I don't wear them a lot. I think adding the GSS pearls will make them more substantial and more fun so I will wear them more. I also want to get my BBA double strand restrung as a rope because I like it next to the harvest strand. I hope to get projects finished before ruckus, but we will see. I could wire wrap the earrings myself, but will probably have PP do it if I can get up there in advance of Ruckus, since the old components need to be removed from the blue pearls. and I'm not sure how to do it.

I suspect you’ll wear the new gss/blue akoya a lot, Kay. I reach for mine anytime I wear a yellow or blue necklace.

I love the idea of bba as a rope with the harvest strand! I hope you can get most of this done in time for Ruckus— I’m looking forward to seeing it!

Day 354:

Began the day with a rope of pinky peach freshwater and coin pearls from Catherine Cardellini and then switched to a white feather pearl necklace and ring, as well as white Keshi dangles from Kojima Pearl.

I love this metallic pinky peach rope from Catherine Cardellini and need to remember to wear it more often. I got dressed, put it on, took pictures but just didn’t enjoy the look. Normally I’d simply find an outfit that better suited the pearls but the top was new and I really wanted to wear it. I still had on the white feather pearl necklace from the night before; I was too lazy to remove it, it’s super light and i’d tucked it into my top. When I removed the CC rope, I pulled out the feather pearl necklace from my top and thought “Ahhh, just right.” The feather pearl ring and Keshi dangles tied it all together.

As I said, I was unhappy with this look so I switched to the white feather pearl necklace, ring and Keshi dangles...








Including a view of my jeans because they’re new too and I love them! There’s a discreet bow followed by a 3” slit which causes a nice flare at the bottoms. Matches nicely with the frilled hem of the top.
