Those are beautiful, classic black Tahitian pearls. I love the deep cherry or purple overtones mixed with the deep greens and the incredibly shiny surface of the pearls.

Hi all- even though I am not new to PG, I have been away from reading posts for quite awhile. I have lurked in the past and I have had the extreme pleasure of reading this thread for the last week straight from the very beginning post in January. I have to tell you, I feel at home. I have been a pearl collector for some time. When I read Babynurse's confession that she didn't photograph or tell exactly how many strands she had because she was a little embarrassed to truly reveal how many she had, I had an 'aha' moment. I know and understand that and that's why I know I'm home. Babynurse, I have loved every minute of this thread, thank you. And thank you to everyone else for their supportive and encouraging and so friendly responses. What a nice group! I'm not quite sure how to post correctly or even add photos, but hopefully, I'll learn and be able to eventually post some of my collection as well.

Keepin' it real today. We spent the day at the beach but I couldn't bear to leave pearls behind. So I pulled out my $1.99 12mm faux.
