365 Days of Pearls

Ah, the fabulous favorite of mine Golay ombre rope ... I'd sell my car for one of those, sigh ... Anyone need a Toyota Highlander? ;)

Welcome Brittany ... many of us have a similar story :) Mine involved keshi pearls ... heard a guy on TV try to explain what they were; it didn't make much sense, and Google sent me here, and to my first PP/Hisano champagne keshi diamond studded necklace. My list of acquisitions in the last 4 years is too long to list lol ... and only exceeded by my wishlist, which grows with each of my friend Baby Nurse's posts!
 
(Melts into a puddle of drool.) That ombre' strand is my absolute favorite.

BritM, my experiences with pearls are somewhat similar to yours. Real pearls were white, round, akoyas. Everything else was junk. Then I found PG and now I own all varieties and shapes and colors. My favorite is whatever I'm wearing that day. Welcome to the group!
 
That Golay strand has to have come directly from the pearl gods. It is magnificent!

BritM- welcome to PG! I think one of the reasons pearls are so addictive is that there are SO many variations. When all you think of is round, white, 6.5-7.0 akoya pearls it's not hard to think of pearls as boring. Then your eyes get opened to all the other varieties and poof - you're hooked!
 
BritM-- welcome to Pearl Guide! I really enjoyed reading about your pearl journey! I'm so glad you shared it. What would we do without these forums, eh? *I* love all jewelry but I doubt I'd have any pearls; everything I know I learned online and all my purchases have been online. Certainly many here share the same experience.
Please share your collection? We'd love to see anything you're willing to photograph and post.

Wonderful! I hope you enjoy the look! I had mine done 2.5 decades ago when it was "cool". I liked it for a couple of years and then lost interest. It's only when I saw Sanippy posting pics of her pearl studs paired with tiny gemstone (diamond?) studs that I began reconsidering the look.
 
Day 130:

Kojima Pearl tin cup and lavender pearl rope from Mikeyy. The tin cup is made up of Tahitian Keshi and the tiny lavender pearls are freshwater.
