To avoid tangling, I keep my excess thread (the needle end, not the end I'm working on) wound on a card. Kleenex box things work great, although I also have some wooden ones.

Here's some of the malachite I got from Sarah at PbtB. It reminds me of the resistors I used to make electronics projects way back in high school. These beads are lovely material! My apologies, I forgot the penny for scale; the clasp is about 16mm X 6mm.

I'd love to see a picture. Could Care Ehret be Caroline Ehret? I think she's on eBay with the shop name druzydesign. She used to come to the Intergem shows, but I haven't seen her in quite a while. I'm not at all sure, but you might give it a try.

I finished the second amethyst and citrine necklace. It is almost the same, so I will put a closeup of near the clasp, where I used 3mm gold filled beads to make it easier to do the doubling back: Next up, I will string some of the marvelous malachite I got from Sarah at the Kojima studio!

Nice job! And oh wow, that clasp! I love Pattye's store too. I often use different beads, like 3mm gold filled beads, for the first and last 3. I don't think it detracts from the necklace, at least not much.

I got some wonderful citrine and amethyst beads, and decided to make mother/daughter necklaces, because my daughter's favorite stone is citrine and mine is amethyst. I added some small but lustrous pearls and some silver and gold beads. I've finished one of them, and it looks wonderful:

Thank you, BWeaves and A Breaker! Yes, I definitely like the idea of pearls and turquoise! My reamer is, well, OK. I have a hand set and an electric one. If you have a Dremel or similar tool you can probably get reaming tips for it.

The diamonds look like rose cuts, set closed back, so yes, probably silver over gold. They wouldn't set the diamonds in yellow gold since it makes them appear yellow. Also, emeralds almost always have inclusions. It is a gorgeous bracelet!

Here are the beads, with the bit that I've done. The reamer is diamond dust covered, and I doubt its effectiveness with diamond beads.
