It looks like a macrame half hitch. I have macrame bracelets and necklaces with that type of loop end and a button or shell that slips through on the other end. If you are making some sort of necklace, you start with the half hitch loop first and then add knots or beads from there.

I always find it interesting to see the choice of pearls made by men. For those I have personally seen outside of the pearl world, I have mostly seen strands of white pearls on the younger set. Fun to catch glimpses of pearls in the wild these days… A Rikitea strand from Cees, a Kojima Tahitian...

I was lucky. I put my name on the waitlist for these earrings from day 2 of PP’s Hong Kong Live Event. They are twirly, wispy, dangles with tiny golden and white Akoya from Takahashi. They are right up my alley. Worn with a custom necklace of SS keshi, also from Takahashi.
