    Biwa pearls from 1930-1940s

Diamonds could be old mine or European cut, although they sparkle close to a modern brilliant cut. A rose cust would be flat on back and sort of organically shaped. They usually only really flash in half-light as they were cut to refract in candle light (diamonds only being worn at night and no...

    Biwa pearls from 1930-1940s

Hi, I dabble in antique jewelry, so I am by no means an expert but I'm pretty sure your ring would be pre-1940 if it's indeed vintage. White metal was in during the 1920-19302, but so passe in the 1940s (itwas yellow gold or pink gold for them). Close up it has nice milgraining, like my...

    A girls first strand

My first strand of real pearls (i.e. not plastic) were dark gray baroque tahitians. I liked them for being colorful and less formal than rounds.

    Private Offer List

I did get the privat offer email, but I added Jeremy and Kirsten to my contacts list, so still not sure what happened, just glad it's working now.:) I cannot wait to see these pearls. I keep telling myself I have untreated lavendar baroques, I need to go for golden or brown, but I know I'll...

    Private Offer List

I emailed Kirsten and the email arrived. I have the sent to work (bad girl I know) as I'm always at my computer, but we got a new system and I think it sent it to junk mail before I saw it. Yahoo account to the rescue. A little off topic, but does anyone know if Outlook will accept formerly...

    Private Offer List

Any idea when those pearls will be offered? I am trying to decide if I should order the tahitian "P" bracelet to go with my baroque strand or wait because a private offer will be coming out soon. Does anyone know if P. Paradise did their X-mas special email? On another thread it sounded...

    Private Offer List

Those pics look spectacular Jeremy. I can't wait for the list to come out. I found myself drawn to the smaller strands at the bottom of the top picture. For the amount of jewelry I own and would like to own, I really need a more interesting life:D

    Natural pearl sunburst brooch

I knew they had kind of a stinky return policy, but I've bought from them before with no issues. They claim to stand behind their stuff on lost stones in the first 7 days, but when I called, they acted like it was an engagement ring and had no idea I had purchased something else. They wouldn't...

    P. Paradise special

I can't speak for everyone, but I never got an email from Jeremy and I'm on the private offer and previous customer list. I would say it's our lovely new email protocols (I have mine sent to work so I can see it when it comes in) but if others missed them, it sounds like maybe they missed...

    Natural pearl sunburst brooch

I am so disappointed! My pretty brooch showed up and one of the pearls was missing. That certainly wasn't in the picture. I checked the box and it wasn't floating around in there. I'll have to call the seller when I get home tonight. Does anyone know if very small mm natural half pearls can...

    P. Paradise special

Has anyone checked out P. Paradise's monthly special for December? I think I see one of the dark ones in my future. They also have some larger baroque strands available too.

    Natural pearl sunburst brooch

I will keep the pin on it as I don't like to alter antique pieces. I hate even having antique rings sized and very few start out at a 5.5. The brooch has a bail, but they didn't give measurements so I'm not sure how big a chain it will accommodate. I doubt it will fit over any of my pearls...

    Natural pearl sunburst brooch

They said it's 30mm so it's big enough to show up, but not huge. I'm wondering how sharp those rays are because I'll wear it as a pendant and the Victorians weren't concerned with safety.

    Natural pearl sunburst brooch

I wanted to share my latest antique jewelry purchase. The photo is the one from the Fay Cullen website, because the brooch/pendant is still enroute to me, but I'm excited. It's 18Kt gold with a .08 diamond at the center and 54 natural pearls 1-2mm in size. It reminds me of the Tiffany lace...

    antique natrual strand listed

One thing it does do is make the mm size of the pearls seem huge. If I just looked at that picture and not the description that says the largest is, if I remember correctly, 6mm I would think that was a 7-8mm center pearl and that the smallest were bigger than a metaphorical pin head.

    antique natrual strand listed

I have bought one antique diamond piece from this website and was fairly happy with it, so I tend to window shop there often. They start out overpriced, IMO, but do discount the longer a piece goes unsold. I noticed they've had this natural strand with a very pretty claps for sale for several...

    PP monthly special for October..

Can you tell us if these are regular colors, but round and in deeper, untreated shades or if they are colors we have never seen before? I am imagining teal:)

    Attack of the baroques

I like baroques too. They are interesting to look at and are much more affordable. I especially love the roundish tahitians that get concentric circles. As to Bree's pearls, they certainly weren't rounds. Maybe potato shaped would be a better description then baroque.

    Attack of the baroques

Has anyone else noticed all the baroque pearls invading TV lately? Last night (Monday) Katie Couric had on what appeared to be a baroque multi SS strand and Bree on Desperate Housewives had on a double strand of small baroques Sunday night.

    Graduated Strands?

If I hadn't just ordered a baroque multi SS from P. Paradise I would consider contacting them about special ordering a choker like this. I'd settle for 12mm as my larget pearl too.
