Do these faceted Tahitian pearls look “problematic”?

Hi Jeremy, Thank you so much for the input. I guess I will try returning the strand as it was sent from China to Vietnam. Worse case possible, I can take out the ‘fine’ ones and make them into new items.

Do these faceted Tahitian pearls look “problematic”?

Hi everybody, I was an active member of this group but I have been inactive for a long time and haven’t bought any new pearl item for years. I’m planning to gradually regrow my love and knowledge for this fascinating gem. Recently I bought a strand of faceted Tahitian pearls from a well-known...

    Writing about blue akoya

Thank you Marianne, Pattye and Bweaves! Pattye unfortunately I haven't had the time to read the whole thread, but i looked at the picture of the strand and unsure if it was the initial color of the pearl or if it is the result of being worn for a long time (the luster looks poor). Thank you so...

    Pearl split along ring line

I have not seen a pearl just splitted like that. Where and how did you buy it? Was it already splitted when you got your hand on it or did it suddenly splitted when you try to work something on it? Very interesting split tho

Edison pearl vs the world: undyed, dyed gold, dyed black, dyed metallic?

Hello, I have a person asking for advice regarding pearls, which is a good opportunity for me to remember what I've learned from the lovely experts on this forum and the CPAA course, especially dyed vs undyed. However, I came across a challenge? How exactly can you tell apart dyed edison and...

Corona Virus - Hong Kong Show

As there will be opportunities in the future, I think you shouldn't travel to China or any Southeast Asian countries at the moment. While the infected cases in other countries are quite low (5 cases in Vietnam, 10 cases in Hongkong, 13 cases in Singapore, etc.), there is a significant higher...

    Personalised Pearls

In my country there is a farm that specializes in culturing pearls with engraving nucleus, which results in pearls with beautiful patterns. But that is all the way in Vietnam and it is a time-consuming and very expensive process. I think it would be easier for you to find a pearl carver and have...

    Summer projects

Here's how the coral pieces look on denim-colored t shirt. BWeaves I love wearing pearls with simple clothing too. The Tahitian strand really level up my tshirt-and-jeans look. I still need more confidence and put more effort in dressing up to suit the jewelry tho. 😁
