Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Took the quickest picture running out the door, so not the best lighting and detail. Tiny Tahitian keshi huggies, white Edison and Tahitian necklace, and a Tahitian single pearl on a paperclip mixed chain bracelet. None of it really goes together per se but there’s a Tahitian theme. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the center pearl on the necklace, but the overall design goes so well with a lot of my clothes so I end up wearing it pretty often. Just had it on this past weekend at a bridal shower as well.

I love the pearl on the bracelet. It’s got such nice luster and just a few tiny spots / off round shape. But the color is such a nice green with a silver-pink overtone. I tried to take a better picture for the color. I find that I’m having a hard time with the verbiage around Tahitian colors. (And with identifying the colors as it’s kind of subjective sometimes?) So I’m trying to learn how to best describe it.

Those keshi huggies are darling.

Dear pearl friends long time no see🤩Life has been challenging lately but this forum remains an oasis I often visit to soak in the pearl gorgeousness and wonderful vibes of all the lovely pearl enthusiasts here. I am so happy to see new members showing their treasures as well as new pictures of my old favorites ( I am looking at you Seaglass necklace ;-) View attachment 473101

I have finally had some time to play with my own pearls this spring and as I am firmly ancored on ban island I am shopping in my jewelry box and have changed quite a few of my pieces. Here comes the latest version of my Bliss rope - we are at 96 pearls now…I removed all 6 freshies, added a few special colored Ts from my other pieces, changed the ombre positions and well …I am quite happy with the result. Wishing everyone lovely days and thank you for all the delicious pearly treats❤️❤️❤️

Oh I LOVE this Eolian!

Ooooo, I'm out of town for a few days at a weaving conference and come back to all your gorgeous pearls!

I haven't tried this combination before. Natural white Hanadama rope from PP. Blue akoya and tiny white keshi rope and blue akoya pendant, both from Takahashi PP Live Event. Mikimoto white gold huggies.

Great job ! Looks beautiful !

Yesterday I wore my reborn pearls. Nice and light to wear. Good summer pearls. I forgot to take a photo wearing them, though. I bought them at a little jewelry store in Mt. Dora, Florida. I wanted drop pearl earrings, and this was the closest thing I could find at the time. I hadn't discovered PP, PoJ, Kojima, or Kamoka yet.

Today it's my RUCKUS blue Tahitians from PP, and Kojima pistachio Tahitian studs. I haven't tried this combo before. They actually work well together.

Thank you @PearlyLibrarian, @2thdktr, @CatMom!

@PearlyLibrarian I wanted to tell you I love love LOVE your PP live hoop earrings! They just glow and Te Hotu Mana earrings are so pretty too! I really like their shop and have a few of their pieces I am very happy with!

@BWeaves So happy to see your Rucus necklace! It is one of my favorite pieces here. The colors, the shapes and the luster of the pearls are somehow magical together. Oh and those Takahashi pieces are absolutely stunning too!

So I used to frequent a forum for another type of item that had a neat thread called "Your **** in Action!" where people could post pictures of their item "working it" in the real world, I always used to enjoy browsing that thread! I thought it might be fun to start one here for those that wanted to post some pictures of "pearls in action" making us look beauteous IRL! Soooo, I'll start, here's some pictures of my pondslime strand and I in the restroom at work today (washing hands, not using the facilities!), please excuse the labcoat. I was mesmerized by the colors and lustre under the florescent lights of the bathroom. I'm not normally one for multicolored strands, but I just love this one, and I feel like the colors go with everything!

I had strung these initially with some gold spacer beads, but decided to restring them without them...I liked the beads but I felt they stole the spotlight from the pearls :) I used the beadcaps to make these cute little earrings out of a few of the extra pearls:

Here's a natural light comparison (out in the car driving around, which is where I generally am when not in the restroom washing my hands, pearls are really working it today!)

So...who's up for sharing some pics of YOUR Pearls in Action???
Personally, I like the gold spacers. The are small enough to enhance the golden to light green colors of the pearls. They look beautiful under day light - outdoor. Enjoy your pearls.

PJs and pearls. I haven't done this combo before. The spacing between the strands is perfect.

The small strand are my birthday pearls. Mom bought these akoyas when I was born, and restrung them with a spare Mikimoto clasp that she had. The luster on this strand is still incredible after 65 years.

The middle strand are baroque akoyas from PP. Very pink, and the luster rivals my Hanadamas. You can barely tell they're baroque, because they look so round.

The large strand are Chinese freshwater pearls from Kojima. They are huge, and the luster rivals my Hanadamas, too. This strand blew me away when it arrived. The hammered effect on these three strands means the pearl nacre is thick.

A pair of freshwater pearl drops from Kojima on my own diamond hoop earrings. Very good shape on these, so I suspect the bead nucleus was drop shaped. Creamy soft luster and smooth surface.

Love your layering @PearlyLibrarian ! Pearls can be elegant and fun at the same time and your picture is a great example of that!

@BWeaves those white pearls just scream luster!!!! Beautiful!

Another one of my rework project is this Tehotu mana ring. I love the color of the pearl and it looked nice on gold filled finding but…I prefer it on18WG ;-) I orginally had a smallish vietnamese akoya on that ring but somehow this works better for me.

Wearing the new ring with my Love strand, this one remains unchanged;-)

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Thank you @eolian pearls ! Speaking of Tehotu Mana rings….! My first from them just arrived in time for a post-wedding family beach trip! I am super pleased with the ring. I was always too scared to try a pearl ring (except a seed or rice pearl ring) because I’m pretty rough on rings. My engagement ring is a sturdy low-set bezel, and I always thought pearl rings sat up too high. However, the fit of this ring is lower because of the bypass setting. Very comfortable, but I’ll still need to take great care not to scuff it. The color on the pearls is prettier than my pictures can capture.

I’m again layering on a few things that I can keep on to stay beachy and pearly and low-maintenance. Mixing Tahitian and pink freshwater keshi and a couple of Tahitian drop huggies and a Tahitian mixed-chain choker.

I’ve been getting a little braver wearing some short huggies and necklaces around the baby (none of them fine jewelry, but gold-filled or silver pieces … just in case). She’s gotten hold of a few in her tiny grip, but it’s been ok so far 😂
