Daniel says he bought 250 shells just like yours for three hundred US dollars including shipping to the Netherlands. That makes them worth less than a dollar a piece. They have no special value.

Thanks GemGeek! I've just seen this message here, still finding my way around the CP! What a lovely place and community this is, so much wisdom and encouragement!

Suitcases filled with pearls puts me in mind of how Jeremy Shepherd got his start. He was an airline attendant who figured out that there was treasure in China - hence the suitcases. I am happy you have joined us here on Pearl Guide.

I wrote a longer more personal missive, but I don't know how to reach you. Please would you give me suggestions?

There is a lot of bad information online, so having a grounding in the basics from a source you can trust, is a great start. Then, just seeing pearls every chance you get. If you can get to a trade show or NYC, you can see a lot of pearls. If you can take the pearls lab, that would be great, but you'll still need to see a lot of pearls, good and bad.
