On a second thought: that woman must have known pearls enough - wonder if she may have kept hers as a keepsake from the prank [nevermind which way, Douglas!]. Her foolish man bequeathed his to his gods - can't imagine how large the resulting scandal was to begin with, to have rippled to this day. Quite the strange story...

Not better... just different. And I had thought about this for quite some months but had little time. Now we have the school vacation period so I have more time to do other things.
If you've ever seen a school-teacher work you know what I mean. Kudos for Lucas!
