I looks like a WSS bi colour - I have found these before where there is a light yellow/gold at one end of the pearl. I don't think the price is outrageous by any means - as pointed out before - it's 18k with yellow diamonds which is pricey on its own. The pearl itself would be a good few hundred if it's got good lustre and is in fact a large low profile South Sea.
I like the ring a lot. But regardless of exactly how it's set, it's a big pearl and not for every day wear. These things get knocked about !
