I just got my AGTA guide and notice that

Elisabeth Strack's yearly pearl lecture will be on

FRIDAY Feb 5, 2016.
The subject is "Identifying Pearls: Natural or Colored, (beaded or non-beaded) Original Appearance or Treated"
Greenlee Room, 9-10AM

I didn't see this posted here, so if it is a duplicate, I apologize.

Interesting note:
On SATURDAY, Feb, 6th
9-10 AM Greenlee Room

"Pearls of Wisdom" A short intro to natural, cultured, and enhanced pearls and how to tell them apart...hands on

Eric Fritz FGA DGA Gem-A London, UK

Thanks Caitlin! I've never been to Tucson, not for lack of trying ... maybe this year .. ;)

Pearl Dinner Thursday evening, Elisabeth Strack lecture Friday morning, followed by the pearl walk at AGTA and GJX shows.

GMTA Caitlin! I was just emailing Jeremy about the schedule. :)

Hey Caitlin! This is really useful information :D
Thank you for sharing...will be there for Elisabeth's talk for sure and I do hope to see many Pearl-Guiders there as well just like every year :D

Hey, Caitlin, Douglas, and Blair. I will see you at Strack's lecture, if not before, for my yearly siting! Looking forward to seeing you again.

I heard a lot about the Tucson Show, and shall look into attending this event with 2018 in mind.

DK :)

There is a Gem Jam, but it's the same night as our pearl dinner...

DH and I will be passing through Tucson in late January - February (dates flexible), so we'll probably stop by the Tucson show and see the pretties. I'm not in the pearl business though, and I can't find anything about where better pearls will be sold to regular customers. Any ideas for me?

Elisabeth's talk sounds so interesting and relevant - I wish we could entice her to join us at a ruckus!

If anyone knows the names of some good venders to look for there, for customers not sellers, please share. I might stop in to the show on my way to visit a friend there but there's so much going on there it looks overwhelming.

There are many shows and some are open to the public. Google "Tucson Gem Shows" and you should be able to find a list of shows that will explain whether they are open to the public. That said, it's hard to say how good the pearls will be. It should be fun just to experience the variety of a show. :)

Sea Urchin, I live in Tucson and can escort you a bit -if you like- the total show lasts 2 weeks and there are many places where a business ID is not required.

Thanks, GG and Caitlin. Now it's looking like we might not go this year, lol, but thanks for the help anyway!

Well, you couldn't find a better guide than Caitlin. Too bad that you can't go :)

Looking forward to seeing you all there.. we are headlong in preparations now. We'll be at the GJX booth #107 again! :)
Fuji's birthday is February 3rd.. please feel free to stop by and remind him :)
