Yes indeed! I find the auction process quite fun, and it's always really neat to have a story behind a particular piece (even if it wasn't owned by someone famous).

It looks like the chain mail work that I see the medaevil re-enactors make. My son is working on his knightly skills on horseback. He wears a 40 lb chain mail tunic when he is in garb.(Society for Creative Anachronisms, or Middle Ages with lots of fun)

It does look like rib-knit; if it's a silver mesh bag those plates are tiny!

Ok, the neck looks like maille, the pouch looks like plates (I can't tell what metal) and the pearls are darling - did someone famous own it?
