The Quest of the Red Pearl

We didn't really ban Zeide. If we had, it would say banned by her name instead of pearl expert or superperforater or whatever. She left out of shame that her game was up and sorrow that she wasn't really who she pretended to be.

Oh yeah, I forgot. My memory is just not what it use to be. I think Zeide G. Erskine had something to do with that.

Superperforator. What does that really mean in her case? That she sits at her computer all day compulsively making little round holes in sheets stacked next to her collection of paper punches?

Our own link-fiend Ana (as in Valeriana) is the only one close to Z in number of posts!

No... you have even more! ;)

Gee... I don't care to count how much I've written on forums over time. A few tens of thousands of posts... a few hundred thousand words: a book or two!

As they say: SOMEBODY STOP ME! :D

Caitlin, do you like the peacock colors or are you more partial to aubergine? Oh, and you will be at Tucson right?

Slraep, I've got my eyes (and a giant barracuda's) on you (Ann Coulter was a nice touch). Happy? Yes.

See, what did I tell you---it's Joel Osteen with a tan and the ubiquitous Tahitian on a string thing. He probably owns a surfboard too but it has never hit water with him on it(I mean you Josh, not Osteen).

What's with the "got the eyes on you" bit? I'm glad I'm not going to Tucson!!. Oh and, what's with the giant barracuda's eyes too, pearl farm-boy?? Besides it not being funny yet again, I also don't get it. Get some sleep for goodness sakes.

Those words put me into a crisis of choice- peacock-aubergine, peacock aubergine.

In any case, I will be in Tucson from day number one on. I live near Tucson, out in Pima county, far enough hardly anyone ever comes out for a casual visit. The nearest convenience store is ten miles away. Priority mail will not deliver to us, I have to drive in to get it at the P.O. !!!!! If your car broke down and you didn't have water, you could die before you get here.....

Anyway, some of us are going to do pearl walks together. I may go on more than one if everyone can't come on the first day. You and Douglas (and Care Ehret) might even sell out your best stuff on the first day- so I think we need to be here by then.

At first I wanted refuse to call her by name --"she who must not be named" :p , but Slraep just came out and commented on her in the thread about funny pearl stories so I am following her lead.

She who must not be named. :p I actually believe should would enjoy being likened to Lord Voldemort. I sure she owns the real ring anyhow... ;)

So who is putting together the Tucson pearl walk... Caitlin?

Cool. I thought I lived in the boondocks but I think death by broken down car takes the cake.
I look forward to your pearl walk.

I came accross this fantastic red pearl, when I remembered about this thread.

Before I saw this photo I would never have believed this could exist ...
It measures 19,68 X 15 mm and weights 99,92 grains ( 24,97 carats).
On sale in Dubai in April last year, but seems not having been sold then.

See the drop shaped natural pearls don't have the same shape than cultured drop shaped ones.
Jeremy explained why ... once ... but I don't remember :(

Wow! I would have never thought... Thanks, Anna!

very interesting but the color is hard to tell - in the first picture it looks chocolate and the second lavender. I'm thinking if you saw it in person it would show a different color yet.

Not quite the lop noors of legend :(

I will take the real thing over the legend any day!!

ha, yes I'd take that pearl over dyed red FWP and the legend of the lop noors any day too!
