I meant to mention this, but kept forgetting - Thanks Jeremy! For anyone who has wanted to take a pearl course, this is the ticket. The online courses are interactive and feature video and lots of great photos.

A little disappointed that there is no consideration for having taken the previous courses. I'm sure three is loads of wonderful new material, but it's fairly expensive for an update. What do you think?

Is almost 70 too old to apply for a scholarship? (rhetorical). Do you think I learned enough from this forum that I could test out of the course?

Last year I asked about that exact thing, was told those who had taken the previous pearl courses would be allowed to purchase the updated course books without retaking the course itself. I hope that will be the case.

I just got my diploma last October too, too bad we missed the new online course!! Nerida, the class in Hong Kong was really interesting, I very much enjoyed it!

Hi all - I managed to fit into the HK lab class held just before the show opened - it was quite a week!

The class was interesting - I didn't think I would ever quite 'get' the GIA colour classification scheme, but it does indeed work!! Met some great people, and feel like I now have another 'home' in HK with the GIA staff there.

If anyone is hesitating regarding the online course - I would thoroughly recommend it!

@Sylvia - great fun meeting you over the weekend - enjoy the rest of your stay in HK and look forward to seeing you again! Stay in touch!
